Another update on Tim Bozon
Wednesday, March 19, 2014 Bozon Improving (March 19, 2014) Saskatoon – Saskatoon Health Region is providing a new update on the condition of Kootenay Ice hockey player and Montreal Canadiens prospect Tim Bozon, at the request of his family.
Last week Tim Bozon’s condition was changed to critical but stable and improving. Over the weekend his condition continued to improve and he was moved out of the intensive care unit (ICU) and into one of the hospital wards. His physicians have listed his condition as stable. His parents say Tim is awake, moving around in his bed, trying to feed himself and trying to speak. They add they are very appreciative of the care he received while in the ICU.
Since arriving in Saskatoon, the family has received a lot of support from the hockey community, friends and even strangers. Anonymous gifts from restaurant vouchers, fruit baskets to a box containing blankets and other bedding has been brought to the hospital. The Bozons are once again asking the media to share their thanks for these gifts.
While his condition continues to improve, Tim Bozon faces a long recovery. The Western Hockey League (WHL) has established a trust fund to assist Kootenay Ice player Tim Bozon and his family with medical and rehabilitation costs. The public can make donations at any BMO Bank of Montreal branch in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Anyone from outside Western Canada who would like to contribute to the Tim Bozon Trust can send the donation to the Tim Bozon Trust c/o Western Hockey League, 2424 University Drive NW, Calgary AB, T2N 3Y9.
The family appreciates the media’s interest in Tim and in educating the community about meningitis. They do not wish to provide any interviews at this time and will coordinate updates to media, when appropriate, through Saskatoon Health Region Communications.

This is good news; the last thing I heard, within the last week, was that he was in a medically induced coma, and brain damage was a distinct possibility

Was very pleased to hear about him getting better. Also very tough on the family, I believe they live in France or Switzerland. It's great that the WHL has set up a trust fund to help the family out with medical and rehab costs.

Willie, they are from France. 17, thanks for putting up the address, now I don't have to retrieve it off my PVR

He recently, as in the last couple of days, celebrated his birthday too. Call it something of a rebirth considering the induced coma and all. He's very lucky. It's easy to be selfish and hope he's healthy enough by the time September roles around (as I assume he's going to need the rest of the season to recover fully). That will be in the back of our minds I'm sure, but I'll just hope that recovers fully, not matter how long it takes. If I were him, I'd be heading home to Lugano for a while. Relax, recover, and spend time with his family.

I hear he is up and walking. As far as Hockey is concerned, I don't think anyone concerned is thinking about it at the moment. Happy he is alive.

Tonight will be his last night in hospital, as he is to be released tomorrow! Great to hear.
He is to be part of a ceremonial face off in Cranbrook on Saturday in game 6 of the Ice's series against the Hitmen. That should be one inspirational moment.

Just saw a very emotional clip of Tim speaking to media upon his release from hospital, followed by words from his father sitting next to him.....in tears...expressing his gratitude.
Immediate barometer on what is worth real worry.
