Hamilton may smarten him up. Be best thing for him I'm going to have to make that 75 minute drive to Hamilton now. I've never seen him play in person. neither has anyone who has attended a game he suited up for

I guess it is Bowman who gets the call up to sit in the rafters and make more money.

Skilly, he comes with the Dogs to the Rock this Thursday and Friday...lucky you!! MT indicated in his presser today that someone will be called up from the Dogs as they only have 12 healthy forwards on the roster right now with Bournival injured and Bowman sent back to the Dogs. Hudon will get some consideration based on his play so far, Thomas will be in the mix given his good camp and preseason play, and Carr likely has surprised a few with his good start to the season. My wild a$$ guess is Andrighetto who leads the Dogs in goals with 6, two more than anyone else and is third in points, two behind Hudon and one behind Dumont. I think the Habs were looking for Bourque to provide some secondary scoring, so Andrighetto may be in the best spot to provide some. Yay me! I might have to search George Street for him and help drown his sorrows

The more I think of Bourque's demotion the more I believe MB has been trying to dump him for some time now and MT was ordered to play him in order to get a suitor. I (we) gave MT a lot of grief for playing Bourque but at this point I don't believe MT was given a choice. I'm no MT apologist as I don't think we'll ever win a Cup with him at the helm but for MB to waive so quickly after Bourque was a healthy scratch tells me he's been trying to dump him for a few weeks if not longer. Call me naive but i assumed who plays any given game was up to the coach. But i believe Bourque being in the line up was MB's decision to try and get something for a useless asset. Perhaps MT is more of a team guy then we give him credit for as he is not ratting out MB; or he knows who butters his bread and he better follow the bossman's orders. I'm going with the latter. Told you I was no apologist.

I agree with that assessment, Habsorbed. After Bourque was waived, it confirmed that there was no interest at all in him. You can't trade a Black Hole. The other option I read from a journalist, was that Berg was taking the option of possibly replacing Sekac with Bourque, right out of MT's hands. We'll never know for sure, but I would guess the latter is more likely than the former. I knew that was one of the possible reasons for Bourque continuing to play, but I hate it regardless. In hindsight, it turned out there was little hope of Bourque attracting any attention. What it did show, is that Bourque was given every opportunity (plus, plus, plus) to play his way out of the 'funk', and have his true character show through. As long as we accept that that ship has sailed, I retract that criticism of Therrien. I'm sure I can find some other reasons .

[raises glass of vodka] I remember the parades when we were young boys, standing next to our comrades, seeing those cannon and rockets passing by, and later, sneaking through the shadows, to touch our tanks, their cold hard metal spoke of power and death, ahhhhh. And all those brave man, marching as one, saluting as one. Our soldiers. Our nation. We were so proud. On that day, we looked at each other, no words were spoken, but we knew, we knew in our soul we were bound by family, by country, by honour, by tradition, to protect each other and our nation from the ravages of....killer kittens. [sips, puts glass down]

Told you I was no apologist. It's a cold, heartless assessment, but rings a little to close to the truth. Given that it took a few days from NHL stands to AHL bus rides, it was calculated. If MB has Pollock dna, he also knows that the move may chaff enough to recharge him. Or not.

scuttlebutt is that MB tried to trade Bourque during the summer (after a great-for-Bourque playoffs) but that there were no takers. seems that other GMs saw what everyone else saw.

I'm sure I saw a rumor last year around deadline day that Colorado had some interest in Bourque. I guess it wasn't true as they could have had him for nothing.
