Love the cards Dis! Well done!
Went through the full range of emotions: chuckled when I was reminded of Chabot, nostalgic thinking of Marty Howe, and down right ill when I saw Greg Millen - couldn't hit the mute button.
Can't wait for the Canes!

Can't wait for the Canes! Thanks man ... I try to match up cards from the same year ... I Google the rest ... Sylvain Turgeon did a couple of years in Montreal then he finished off his career in Ottawa ... we got hosed on that trade ... Claude Lemieux scored 125 goals over the next five seasons with the Devils, while Turgeon tallied 15 in 75 games with Montreal ... imagine if Lemieux and Roy hadn't had any conflicts with their coaches ... Cheers.

MT up to his usual tricks. Sekac has a bad game, and he is now on Eller's line in practice, with DD moving up with Pleky.

DD lasted longer on line 3 than I thought he would. how soon until he's "reunited" with Max (cue the Peaches and Herb video).

I don't understand the reasoning, naturally. DD has been scoring well on his line and getting as many minutes as anyone. Why change that? Sekac has hardly sucked the hind you know what several games in a row. Is this another 'lesson' for Jiri?
More strange lineup decisions.

I don't mind seeing Prust/Eller/Sekac reunited ... in fact, I welcome it ... that line was working just fine until Therrien dismantled them ... I'm not sure what Desharnais will do with Plekanec, but I'm hoping to see some rekindled chemistry with our 3rd line ... the team could use it ...
Cheers.

[shrugs] I can't tell you what his motives are but maybe ... he's trying to get the team all playing the same way regardless which line they're on ... like I said, though, I couldn't tell you one way or the other ... Cheers.

Sekac has hardly sucked the hind you know what several games in a row. Is this another 'lesson' for Jiri? More strange lineup decisions. I just saw the actual lines and Sekac at right wing makes sense. In that case, I wouldn't look at it as a downgrade for Jiri. He's with Eller and Prust, two pretty good guys and with Prust doing some of the digging, Sekac may not have to do as much. The one thing that might hurt that line is that there's no finisher. He was playing left wing with Pleks and Parenteau and I like Sekac better at right wing.

Eller's only hot streak of the season was when he was with Sekac, in a 3 games stint he got 3 goals, 5 points (which is close to half his current total). *** As for DD, the guy got demoted... then thrown into a position he wasn't used to... and he still managed 3 goals, 5 points in 5 games... That said I am not sure DD gets an "upgrade" in that deal as Therrien just keeps bouncing him around...

Emeline must drive Therrien nuts sometimes. But that was a keystone Cops routine. Errors everywhere. No goal against, though.

Sekac on a hard backhander. 1-0 Habs. Right after we killed a penalty.

1-0 Canada vs Finland. Reinhart on a PP off a rebound on a Theodore shot. Bonus updates for loyal HabsRus viewers.

Finland looks faster than Canada. Canadian kids not giving it absolutely everything, which might work against poorer skating teams, but the Finns aren't in that category and they're playing desperately, with only one point so far.

Malholtra got away with a trip .... And then strong forechecking and a quick release leads to an Eller goal

I missed our second goal. ONe cannot watch two games at once, at least not with any focus. Canada has 1-0 lead on Finland at the intermission. PS. Fucale has played well. Has had to. Canada looking not nearly as sharp as their first game. That's what happens when the opposition gets tougher. And on the other front , Toronto is being outshot 16-5 early in the 2nd period and predictably lead Tampa 2-0. Bishop at a .600 save percentage. As we all expect...it won't last. Just how will the Leafs lose tonight?
