Devils are at home to the Leafs tonight. We're well-rested. After the last two home performances, no excuse for a sluggish start on this one.

The last two games showed me that you simply can't take other teams for granted ... Buffalo is in our heads and Arizona simply outworked us when it counted ... gotta win this one ... might tune into the Leafs/Devils tonight just for the heck of it ... Cheers.

DelaRose recalled. Alphonse and Gaston? Or maybe more CAP games.

Given the season's track record don't be shocked if this game is a struggle despite NJ playing and travelling tonight.
Not too many games have been easy for this group the early beatings from contenders and the number of losses to the bottom feeders should raise major warning flags.

Watched the second and third of the Leafs-Devils tonight….just to see how much effort the Devils would expend.
Despite being outshot 33-17, they didn't give up a ton of great scoring chances…and won 4-1.
It wasn't what you'd call a high-energy game by any means, so New Jersey will not only have enough in the tank tomorrow night, but they'll be UP after winning.
Interesting to see what we do.
If we spot them a couple of goals early…we'll likely be in for a long, stifling evening….especially if we're thinking too much about Boston on Sunday.

The announcers were saying that despite the shot margin, the Devils had the better chances.

That's what I saw, jkr.
The Devils are 5-0-1 in their last 6….with Ws over San Jose, Leafs (2), Ottawa, and Florida. The OTL was against Pittsburgh.
Only 8 GA in those 6 games.
Hope we can find our scoring touch….

As usual, Carey has to snuff them and we'll find a way to get one or two goals. I looked at the Devils line-up and thought, Holy Smokes, how come these guys aren't in first place, miles ahead of everyone else, and then remembered it wasn't 2005, it was 2015.

Earlier this year, I had confidence in the team, expecting wins. I'm back to hoping for wins, but not surprised by losses. Today, I expect to lose. Devils playing well, Lou has pulled out his spare horeseshoes. We're back to having too many small guys. I wonder if that's why DelaRose was called back up?

That was a lot of slashing by Zidlicky on Galchy. Are they letting that go? 1-0 Devils, first shot on goal,

I seem to recall DD doing quite well as a third line left winger. He was scoring and was much less exposed defensively. I didn't and still don't understand why this changed.

That was a bs icing call. The puck was 6 inches from the devils dman's stick and he didn't even try to touch it.

This is an oldish team the Habs are playing. They need to up the tempo and tire them out.

Good work by the Eller line. That will help in the tiring process.

Desharnais has missed on some passes he would normally make. Patches is playing at a level above his linemates right now

The refs are totally inconsistent from previous games. They're letting guys put their sticks up in other players armpits, definitely a no-no. Prust should have drawn a penalty. Maybe they were waiting for Prust to go down so they could give him an embellishment penalty.

Why is it not beyond comprehension that this team loses it's third game to another bottom feeder...with a back up goalie to boot?

This is far above our usual standard for first period play. It's looking like the result will be the same old though.

Lots of shots, but sure have not made Kincaid work very hard.
Devils games are always boring.

Yes, a better 'advanced stats' period, but the one that counts is 1-0 for the bad guys. 14-3 shots on goal, but I can't recall one that gave Kincaid any difficulty at all.

Maybe they were waiting for Prust to go down so they could give him an embellishment penalty. That's the problem with the no embellishment thing. Let's the refs off the hook. A good percentage of the time an embellished call was still a legit penalty. Now they just don't call it. The refs need a smack.
