Another opportunity to add some more hardware to the showcase: www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/benn-ovechkin-price-finalists-for-lindsay-award/Jamie Benn of the Dallas Stars, Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals and Carey Price of the Montreal Canadiens are the three finalists for the Ted Lindsay Award, the National Hockey League Players’ Association announced Tuesday. The award, which is voted on by members of the NHLPA, is presented to the NHL’s most outstanding player. Benn, 25, captured the Art Ross Trophy after recording 35 goals and 52 assists in 82 games. The Stars forward set career highs in points, goals, assists and tied for the league-lead in even-strength points. It is the first time he’s been named a finalist for the award. Ovechkin, 29, has won the award three times throughout his career. The Capitals superstar scored 53 goals — capturing his fifth-ever Maurice (Rocket) Richard Trophy — and 28 assists in 81 games this season. He led the league in power play goals, game-winning goals and finished eighth in points per game. Price, 27, is also a first-time finalist and the first goaltender to be in the final three since Henrik Lundqvist in 2011-12. The Canadiens goalie led the NHL in wins (44), goals-against average (1.96) and save percentage, which earned him nominations for both the Hart Memorial Trophy and Vezina Trophy.

Ah yes, another potential piece of hardware for Carey. You can bet there's only one piece of hardware Price is interested in, and it's not one that anyone votes for.

I think any one of the guys whose name ends up on the Cup, wouldn't trade that for every individual award going. I know I wouldn't.

Never understood why they have this & the Hart. It's redundant.
