Didn't see game, but I noticed they scored first this time.

Boys played well except for some let downs at times.
The big news is Gally is back with Chucky and Larry. Not a lot of magic yet but hope MT stays with it. DSP with Pleks and Max. Didn't seem like that line missed a beat.
Good to have Carey back!
Really think we may have the best top 4 dmen in the league; particularly as puck handling goes. Pats played well even though he's got to play with the turnover machine #77.

DSP can be a bigger bowling ball than Gallagher, but he doesn't have the hands. Here's hoping the EGG line finds itself again.

Big-time payoff with d-men joining the rush tonight ... second strong outing in a row for Nathan Beaulieu ... he was an offensive d-man in junior ... Jeff Petry finding his groove tonight ... what a signing Tomas Fleischman was ... Carey Price's timing might be a tad off ... this, too, shall pass ...
Cheers.

Flash has been great. No doubt. He's played with skill before. He knows an up tempo game.

Flash has been great. No doubt. He's played with skill before. He knows an up tempo game. Two players on the Caps I always liked: Flash and Brooks Laich. I remember the story about Laich stopping on the way home after the 2010 Game 7 loss to the Habs to fix a flat tire of someone stranded.

TSN headline: "Canadians beat Islanders". Yes, "CanadiAns". And they pretend to be about other things than the Leafs.

Glad to see Carey back. Better effort by the boys. Video review in TO is a joke, not unlike some of the puzzling, inconsistent #gamemismanagement. I would hazard a guess that professional athletes just want a consistent application of rules, no matter what.
The Isles clearly had a game plan to interfere with Carey and get in his kitchen. Watch for it again tomorrow.

Watch for it again tomorrow. I don't think you can blame TO as on those calls it is the refs on the ice that are dong the review. It is hard to believe that you can crosscheck a goalie while he's in his crease. Wonder if MT ever got an explanation. Regardless, it seems us fans, who support the game, are entitled to an explanation from the ref. Otherwise it is just arbitrariness which is worse than WWF which at least follows a script. I think Carey and the whole team can expect to see more Slapshot style hockey. The Isles still have the old fashion and hopefully dying breed of a 4th line with with pluggers and goons. We can only respond with Byron, Semin, and Flynn. Seems the Isles, the Yotes as well as the Jets were throwing their weight around. Other than Pats, and maybe DSP we don't have much of a response. In the Isles game the tactic worked as they were down by 2 so they needed the game to open up: "Hey, about we get some 4 on 4 hockey" and presto they're down by 1.

The right way to beat them is exactly how the Flynn line did, by scoring. Having said that, I still think the team misses Prust. He wasn't a heavyweight, but no one wanted to have to take him on, which provided some protection.

Here's hoping 'speed kills'! I'd take Pats over Prust. Better fighter and not as injury prone so far. If we can get Tinordi in for Gilbert then we got some real deterrence, and perhaps less turnovers, less time in our own zone, which means less time for opposition forwards around Carey. While Emelin can hit he is not a fighter, in fact is an embarrassment at that 'skill'.

Agreed habsorbed, replacing Gilbert with Tinordi is worth a try. Only if Meatead had a clue of what goes on.

Nice victory. The replay booth gifted one to the Isles.
The first line looked better than they have lately. Not sure if Gallagher was moved because the first and second lines had been struggling five on five. Or if Therrien did not like him in this game. To be honest, before he marked that important empty netter, I thought Gally was noticeably one of the worst Canadiens in this game. It is never a question of effort with him, but at times I think he fights the puck and when that happens in the d-zone or transition the outcomes are scary.
