Habs Playoff Bound?

I don't think most fans would be annoyed or disappointed at all if the Habs became sellers at the deadline. It's our only hope to break free of the mediocrity cycle, so most of us (using this board as an example) would be fine with it.
We aren't your typical fans...
A lot of people would complain that they were giving up when only a few games out of a playoff spot.
It would hurt sales to a certain degree; to me the real risk is in starting a cycle of non-winning: UFAs don't want to go to losing teams...
But I also think it would be the right way to go forward, trying to do what Boston did in 1997: tank for that one year and get a very high pick, and then try and be a winning team right off the bat the next season.
DD, Plekanec, Markov, Weise, Gilbert, could all be useful players to contenders in one role or another, and we could get something back for them - we just need to be sure that we have someone to take over their roster spots (and not just kids we wish could be ready) next season. If we move, say, Gilbert and see how Pateryn deals with being a regular, we can fill that gap this summer if Pateryn doesn't seem ready, but if we move Plekanec and DD, we might find that Galchy has his limitations as a center and we'd be low on backup plans.
The guy I'm actually worried about is Weise: we are woefully weak on RW, so it would be hard to move him or let him go, but I also expect he'll be looking for more money/term than he's worth. (if it comes down to it though, I'd be OK giving him too much term rather than too much per season.)
