The Bruins just got themselves a goaltender. Confirmed by TSN
The Canadiens, Bruins, and Sharks have completed a three-way trade that sees goaltender Jeff Hackett and defenceman Jeff Jillson go to Boston, defenceman Kyle McLaren go to San Jose, and forward Niklas Sundstom off to Montreal
And yes, we got fleeced. Cheers.

How did the Habs get fleeced? If we wanted McLaren, the cost would have been Hackett + one of Komisarek or Hainsey...
Sundstrom and a 3rd is darn good value for Hackett...i personally would not have been willing to part with one of our d-prospects for McLaren.

Make no mistake about it, this is a good trade for the Habs. The problem is, this is a VERY good trade for the Bruins.

Yes, AH, VERY GOOD for the Bruins.
Maybe fleeced isn't such a good word ... how about getting the rug pulled out from under our feet sound?
Cheers.

They received better value than we did.
Microsoft is a good company, but it isn't worth $90.00 a share. It's worth $52.00 a share USD.
Everything has a value and Hackett is worth a lot to the Bruins. (He was worth a lot to us in October when Theo was struggling) and if Theo is hurt or hits a slump, we will regret this trade. We should have received more. The Bruins now have better forwards, as good a defense and as good goaltending as we do. How will we get past them?

My point exactly. Bruins improve BIG TIME for now AND the future... But they were going to improve for the future any way you slice it...names like Tanguay, Skoula and Isbister have all been mentioned in the past as coming to the Bruins for McLaren. Ultimately, the Habs have to look at their own organization. They traded a guy that plays in 1 out of every 5 games for a 3rd round pick and a pretty good 2 way player. This also allows the Habs to bring up Garon and our chances are much greater to resign him at this point.

Yeah, my only question is did Savard know about the trade to Boston? If he did then he has went against his own word when he said he wouldn't trade him to a team in the east. If he didn't then maybe he just got screwed by a couple of GM's who know their way around the table a little better. Either way this trade will come back to haunt us time and time again. Stupid move. I could have been force-fed it if he could have forced Audette in there somewhere.
