Let's not go overboard here. No one in their right mind would want anything bad to happen to Therrien. Not now, not ever.
For over a year I am probably responsible for all of his negative names. Starting from Simple Man to Simpleton to MThead. This was nothing but an expression of my, actually OUR anger and frustration for watching this team lose and become irrelevant.
Some may say that it is disrespectful to the man. I don't buy that for a minute. He is a public figure that got paid very well to do a job and he was not competent at it. End of story. Instead of doing the honorable thing and resigning his position, he jumped on Theo’s and Koivu’s wagon and rode it for all it was worth. I find it hard to respond to anyone who says that given defferent players and a different environment he could of done better. His job was to do the best he could with what he had. HIS failure ended his job. Could he of done better with different players? Certainly. If he was at the helm of the ’77 Hab’s he would succeed. So would I. So would a three legged hamster.
How do we stretch respect shown on this board to each other to cover Therrien? We are posting to each other and none of us are paid to do Therrien’s job. He had WILLINGLY placed himself as a public figure thus any and all failures were scrutinized and analyzed. Continues failures increased the aggravation felt by many and manifested itself in less then complementary name calling. And? That’s part and parcel of a public figures life. He gets the accolades and he gets the eggs. We have done this to our “leaders” for 10,000 years.
Bottom line. No one wants anything other then good health and happiness for him. Just some of us don’t want to see him within a country mile of the Hab’s.
