Ouch..isn't this his 3rd or 4th already? Every time he seems to be getting on track...he gets injured...such a shame...so much skill... Looking at that trade again.... Zubrus: 30 games, 7 goals, 5 assists, 12 points +4 Linden: 35 games, 8 goals, 6 assists, 14 points -5 Zednik: 45 games, 20 goals, 13 assists, 33 points +12 !! Bulis: 47 games, 6 goals, 15 assists, 21 points. + 11 ! And somehow Savard got an upgrade in draft picks...... Would be nice if Savard can pull off a couple of more trades like that.

WOW. Those numbers really speak for themselves. I knew we got the better end of the deal, but I didn't think we won by that much Linden is still a useful player, though I bet Vancouver (where I am) would trade him for Zed in the blink of an eye

The trade is really looking good.... injuries make it a tough read, but fact is that AS gambled on the health of Zed and Bulis (both had injury problems in Washington) and looks like it'll be a win.
It's still his biggest trade by far. He needs to win it, since we have precious few tradeable assets after those two (Linden and Zubrus) are gone.

and the guy the Caps drafted with the 2nd rounder is Team Canada bleuliner Nathan Paetsch
and the first rounder they got for Linden turned into another team Canada member, Boyd Gordon

To me, trades that involve picks should really be judged on the picks and where they were - someone making a lucky pick in the 7 th round changes little to what was given up. The only trades that involve picks where the players taken matter are IMO those made on draft-day, or almost.
