Heard this on CKAC today.
Apparently...it could be as a scout or something
MT should decide soon.

I hope not. Why do they always fire their coaches and then give them jobs as scouts? It's not like he is great at evaluating talent. I think I remember Jack Todd referring to it as the habs pension plan for coaches.

How can someone who thinks Traverse is a #2 defenseman be a scout? Am I the only one who sees something wrong with this picture? I, on the other hand, think that MT will be offered the "Head Lawn Care guy" ... Is there a lawn somewhere around the Bell center?

Nothing confirmed that he would be a scout. Just speculation by the radio station

Well, we gotta pay him anyhow, so why not let him do some legwork ? Go and scout the odd team, watch some AHL guys looking for hidden gems, follow up on some prospects that aren't really worth having AS check up on, etc. There's a lot of work to be done to run a hockey team, and here you have a hard-working guy who, in his only complete season as a coach, was able to make the playoffs and win a round, so he has to know something about NHL hockey. Why not let him help out.... you're paying him in any case.
I think Mario Tremblay did some scouting for us for a while after being fired as well, nothing wrong with that.

Except he'd be piling up expenses in addition to his salary. The team bus driver sounds best, but he'd be in a fight with Gino, once he's healthy.

LOL Compare those expenses to the problems of getting some newbie into the whole NHL mindset and all, and it's worth letting MT do something useful. AS knows what MT can and can't do, by now. I hope.

Took the word's right out ofmy mouth PTH. Let's try and get something for the money. Besides, it keeps him in the game and maybe he'll catch on somewhere else eventually and we won't have to pay all of that salary.

Yeah, sure HW, like there is going to be a lineup of GM's to make him the next head coach.
If AV and King can't cut it then MThead has an infinitely zero possibility. (infinitely zero? Sound good anyway)
Do you really want him to evaluate talent in a scouting capacity? Me thinks not.
Better for him to go back to the AHL as a coach.
