Hackett in goal the next game for sure I dunno... Do you give Theo a vote of confidence by starting him again? I mean he is our number 1 and our future. But Hackett is playing well and deserves to have a game where the team plays like tonight !!!

First, the habs were hitting tonight, not hard, but at least, they were taking their guys out of the play. Second, Petrov was flying tonight. Obviously one of the guys who hated Therrien. Chow had a good night offensively and made a few good plays defensively Perreault impressed me as well...compared to his usually soft self, we saw him in the corners tonight , banging away, looking for some loose pucks. (another who hated MT) Hainsey....wow ... Just goes to show how using him properly makes a ton of difference. He is back on track and pinching...his confidence is renewed. They actually outshot an opponent for once. 39 to 27 ... for once MTL were causing turnovers and not the other way around. Now for the bad. Traverse. I counted the amount of times that he made mistakes: He turned over the biscuit 7 times tonight...BRUTAL...with a dependable D in his place (Andre??) at least the first goal would have been averted. Players make mistakes...but 7 is a bit much. And his soft passes...I woke my wife up twice tonight screeming at the TV...He drives me crazy!!! The worse one was when Corson blows around him...CORSON??? If Traverse takes him out, there is no goal...I blame the first goal on him. CJ impressed me there since he recognized the mistakes and cut his icetime. Good for him. Now...we have a few days to review the game, makes some adjustments and we are on our way. Very good game except for parts of the first period. Go Habs Go!

Why did CJ play that god awfule forth line so much they sucked. Whats wrong with Markov?? Hes not playing well at all. Markov has to be getting a little tired. He is playing a ton of minutes every game. Is the target of the opposition every game, etc CJ plays 4 lines...that's his style...hopefully when Blouin is in they don't play them as much...

Kilger hurt his leg in practice yesterday
Audette was healthy enough to play

I think the only reason Blouin played was because of Kilger's injury. A Kilger-Ribeiro-McKay could be effective as long as it doesn't get too much ice against the opp's top 2 lines but I'm guessing Jules has his own ideas.
I thought Chow played one of his best games he threw a couple of hits (almost demolishing one of the Tor d-men stepping up to get the puck out) and was effective on the back check still shoots from the outside too much though. Let's just hope he keeps that intensity level.
Hainsey...what can you say amazing how you can play when you're not going to get benched for 1 mistake. Not to mention better and more appropiate icetime.
Petrov...no matter what anyone says this guy really helps the transition game if we could only do something about his hands inside the hash marks.
Traverse...please god I hope Jules sees what the hell is going on here. Send Blouin down for Gilmour and Traverse for Boulioun maybe I don't know but this guy is killing us.
Julien...well all in all it's too early to get a good read on his tendencies and what not but the line changes were crisp and I don't think we got caught on any for the first time in a while. I watched it on english CBC and they didn't pan him alot so I didn't get any good looks at his bench "manners".
Audette...perfect line for him. Maybe keep Blouin up to send him down?
Theo...played quite well kept us in it in the first, coulda been game over right there.
First line looked good but I also have to wonder if playing them against the other teams top line is going to be a good thing. Again we'll see.
Forecheck...well for one we actually had one and I'm starting to sound like a broken record here but a good forecheck is one of the best ways to cover up for a suspect D corps.
Second line looked a hell of alot better when Perreault didn't carry the puck he's a shooter after all not a skater. Bulis seems to be the guy that sorts out any line and to think he was out of the picture before the season.
Oh did I mention Traverse is FREAKIN TERRIBLE!
All in all a good start me thinks. Let's go have some fun in the sun ;D

Brilliant move by CJ ... Putting Chow on the checking line. If we all know that Chow is a liability on defense, what a better place to put him ? With JJ and AD to cover for him, we can let him fly offensively... he doesn't have to worry as much about his defensive game. Plus, he could be the spark that will wedge JJ and AD out of their slumps....Brilliant I tell you...BRILLIANT. I am really starting to like this guy. cheers

and Bulis with YP and OP Perreault needs someone fast and strong defensively on his line. Bulis is that and he has the talent to round out that line. You can't put 3 smurfs together and expect them to be good defensively. You need to round out 2 smurfs with a good 2 way player. Bulis is that. and Petrov was flying out there. The Petrov of old for sure

"The only negative thing was the loss," said Julien, whose team fired a season-high 39 shots at a pair of Leaf goaltenders and played with energy not seen in weeks by a Montreal team. "There were a lot of positives. "They were committed on defence and we also came back to get a point (for the overtime loss). If the guys keep playing like that at both ends of the ice, we'll be OK." - www.faceoff.com/nhl/teams/canadiens/news/story.html?f=/news/20030118/030118news321518.html

Didn't Therrien put Chow on the checking line and we were all criticizing him and calling him crazy? ;D But CJ didn't use Juneau and Dackell against the Sundin line last night. That's the difference. Me thinks the checking line will be eliminated completely once Juneau and Dackell are gone. Like I said yesterday, Julien is a ''3 offensive lines, 1 grinding tough/4th line'' kind of coach. He did it in Hamilton, I believe he did it with team Canada at the wjc and he started doing it yesterday.

AS are you reading this stuff start moving dead weight and give your coach the tools he needs for his trade. enough of the square pegs fitting in round holes time to start completing your puzzle !!!!!
