Personally i think that Julien will bring all of the above ;D, except maybe the call ups, that's Savard's job. Julien will bring an apparent system which MT didn't seem to have, and the shot ratio will be much better. I also hope that the lines will improve. A set second line will emerge, and it will have all the components of a good line, including size. Julien will demand and recieve respect from all of his players and finally Mariusz Czerkawski will produce offensively. What do you guys think?

From what I've read about Jules so far is that he is a defence first but it also sounds like he's pretty aggressive. Sounds like he's kind of a Mike Keenen style coach without the grating personality. Personally I'll love it if true, I think we all will especially if it means an actual forecheck. Like some others have posted I have no sense of dread this time around like with Tromboner and MThead. First thing I hope he does is have a little chat with Green and make up a little list he can tape to the back of Green's hand so instead of thinking he can just look at it know what it is he's SUPPOSED to be doing

i really hope traverse's ice time is cut back, and kilger gets a shot on the second line with chow and perreault, i'm curious as to how that line would fair. probably not the best second unit. but kilger is about the only guy we have that has the skill and size to work on that second line. mckay is alright, but without gilmour there he hasn't done a whole lot on the second.

I say... -better defence -Young blood -More respect and hopefully WINS! Last week or so Koivu went out of his way to say Therrien was a good coach Gilmour went out of his way to say Therrien was a good coach The rat criticized Therrien. Respect? I think Therrien had the respect of the right guys but his boss went the way of the rat. Julien is certainly at least as good as MT was and will get a new spark going for sure. Here's hoping he will be able to call his own shots...

Last week or so Koivu went out of his way to say Therrien was a good coach Gilmour went out of his way to say Therrien was a good coach That sounds like a sure kiss of death to me. If they really went out of their way to say he was a good coach, I'd say they were just being coy veterans, that know how to play the media. And I'll bet you they didn't believe a word of what they said themselves. They're just putting on a brave face for the media, while internally the team was coming apart at the seams.....

With that kind of thinking, you can twist around just about anything a player says... might as well ignore all quotes, for good or bad, in that case.

Personally i think that Julien will bring all of the above ;D, except maybe the call ups, that's Savard's job. Julien will bring an apparent system which MT didn't seem to have, and the shot ratio will be much better. That remains to be seen. With defensive liabilities like Perreault, Audette, Chow and Petrov out there, no system will work out all that well. Of the three, only Perreault is really getting anything worthwhile done this season.... no coach can change that. MT tried most likely combos.... there's no easy way to fix this - if CJ fixes it, it will be through the health of his players - ie, Gilmour. For the rest, no one you can put there will really get it done... This last one is possible, Chow is now in shape.... i really hope traverse's ice time is cut back, and kilger gets a shot on the second line with chow and perreault, i'm curious as to how that line would fair. probably not the best second unit. but kilger is about the only guy we have that has the skill and size to work on that second line. mckay is alright, but without gilmour there he hasn't done a whole lot on the second. Kilger essentially shows up for 5 games, impresses, and disappears. He might give us a 2nd line for a week or two, but don't expect anything more.

With that kind of thinking, you can twist around just about anything a player says... might as well ignore all quotes, for good or bad, in that case. The point was that, even if they thought he was the worst coach to ever grace this planet, they would not come out and publicly say so. Might as well ignore all quotes good or bad, isn't such a bad idea, because the players will seldom tell you what they are really thinking. If they did, it would be open season for the vultures of the media.
