With the season now entering the second half I'm very surprised that Montreal have not traded Hackett. With Theodore now playing well again Hackett is getting fewer starts which means he becomes less in value to the Habs. Garon has to play in about 12 games this season so that he cannot become a free agent in the summer, so Montreal faces a real possibility of losing them both in the off season. I think that if Garon was to get called up he would still choose to become a free agent since he is no way going to get in that many games this season.
If that is the case then maybe you deal both goaltenders in packages and try to bring back a goalie prospect in return or a cheaper veteran to play with Jose.
Any thoughts?

well, no team has needed him yet...or offered enough...
I seriously hope some team loses it's goalie and have to get a Hackett type at the deadline and give us an Oates like package...heck, half of what the Caps got for Oates would be sweet.

Don't think he has to play he has to have 12 games at NHL levels that included the one on the bench...It give us a little break and that's probebly why AS is not to fast to pull the trigger....The stars week end always is the start in trading...look at the west # 9 to 12 how they are close so we will see the west against the est fire sale in players soon

Sitting on the bench doesn't change anything.
