Remember how we used to cringe every time that an ex-hab would sting us from many questionable trades, well lookie now: -Goalies- Patrick Roy- still good, but no longer the best, give me Theo T-bo- having a good career with the Hawks, good for him, give me Theo -Defensemen- Chelios- ouch this still stings, he's playing great Desjardins- on the downside Malakhov- have a nice day Lefebvre- done like dinner Hill- lost him in expansion draft, too bad Lachance- would be better than Dyks, or Travvy, but thats all Many others around like Brad Brown, Murray Baron, Ulanov, Odelein, etc., add more if you wish, I probably am missing someone though. -Forwards- John Leclair- injury prone but not the player he was, be nice to still have him though Mark Recchi- now a mere mortal Pierre Turgeon- still good, but soft and very expensive Vinnie Damphousse- a modern miracle, but he was done here Shayne Corson- cough, I don't miss him, do you? He is a warrior though Tucker- totally misread by management, one that got away Conroy- mistake, stings Thornton- another stinger, but he is still gets injured too often Savage- he wasn't bad, but we don't miss him either Lots more like Berezin, Asham, Hoglund etc., who else?
So, as you can see the damage for the most part is done, we have paid the price but survived, I certainly like the look of our future, time to move on.

Patrick and Chelios will never truly fade away, however, as they'll both be inducted into the Hall of Fame. Of course everyone and their dog seems to get inducted these days - heck I'm sure Marc'll get in once he reaches 50,000 posts .

No fear, Asham, Dyment, Zubrus and others will take over :-)
Seriously, the number of ex-Habs I'd really want back is going down all the time, soon the list will be pretty short, once Recchi-Damphousse-Turgeon really lose it.

Lachance- would be better than Dyks, or Travvy, but thats all Still annoying, we gave a 3d for him and let him go for squat the next season. At his salary, I'm happy we don't have him, given his injuries. Blame AV for this one, he didn't know how to play the kid. Houle got hosed too, but when you trade kids of that age, it happens often - since they have little value since they might just disappear instead of blossoming. Again, blame AV. Scotty was a UFA to be who felt terribly misused since AV wanted him to play the role of a goon. Houle got what he could... And you missed one guy I'd like to see back - Val Bure. Sure he whines and all, but he's youngish and actually tends to put up OK numbers. Add Val Bure, Darcy Tucker (and Asham ;-) )and this Habs team is one heck of a young, up-and-coming team...

Hows this one for ya. Patrick Kjelberg.....released to go back to europe then retaken in the draft again and has been productive though now on the downswing.

Almost forgot about Andrew Cassels. Traded to Hartford for a 4th round pick that turned out to be Val Bure.

Okay I REALLY have to stop thinking about this. Now how about Mike Keane, Matt Schnider, and one that really burns my backside, Ron Tugnutt. Oh yeah, we could really use the size of say Turner Stevenson, Jassen Cullimore and Donald Brashear.

Just to toss out a couple more names: Thomas Vokun, and Donald Brashear. I'm not a Brashear fan because of his antics, though a goon that can skate, and take a regular shift without being a detriment defensively is a valuable commodity.

Berezin is scoring at a good pace in Chicago, playing on their top line. I have center ice, and was watching their game the other night, Berezin had 2 goals, to tie it up, then he turned the puck over which resulted a breakaway goal, Hawks lose. But he's still scoring. Did anyone say Linden and Stevenson? Then there's Cullimore (TB), Laflamme (Stl), Dwyer (NYR), Reid Simpson (Nas), Nasradine (Sabers/AHL), Darby (NJ), Brown (Wild).
