A new line is born, Koivu, Hossa, Zednik, The Koho'z. These guys played great tonight, and it's gonna be a pleasure watching them on Saturday night against the Sabres. Could this be the start of something good for the Habs? Could we now go undefeated in seven? Anything can happen, and although just a start, this was a very good start. For once we outshot a team, and in doing so our goalie didn't have to hold us in this one, we won it on our own, and without Blackburn coming up huge it easily could have been 6-2... GO HABS!

With both Hossa and Zednik being left-shooting guys that play both wings, how did they line up last night when they played together?

I don't care about who shoots what way, they looked great last night and were a treat to watch. Lots of creative stuff happening when they were on. BTW was it just me or did Zed look a little lost last night. There were a few times he looked like he didn't know what was going on.

Koivu - Hossa- Zednik
The Kilohertz line (KHz) sounds like a natural to me, but of course I'm in IT... ;D

It'll come back to him just like shooting a puck. That's a nice combo of skills on that line. All three can rag the puck. A slick playmaker. Two guys with wicked shots. All three competent two-way players. Gotta like it. Unfortunately Marcel is due to be sent back to Hamilton in about 8 games, or whenever Czerkawski is recalled.

Well I just want to point out that Hossa will not score one goal per game for the rest of the year, will do mistakes and will have slumps... Just like every rookie. We will need patience and not fall on his back whever he has a few bad games.
I hope that Hossa's success puts an end to the "let's-keep-our-prospect-forever-in-the-ahl-because-they-can't-help-us-win" line of tought. Just like for EVERY other team, when you give a real chance to a good prospect and put him on a good line, you're helping yourself.
Chow needs to stay exactly where he is, the next one to come up has to be Ward. HABS needs a guy who plays a high spirited physical game with decent size and decent skills and he fits the bill.
My lines would be
Hossa – Koivu –Zednik Gilmour – Perreault – McKay Bulis – Juneau – Ward Kilger – Ribeiro - Audette
Character on D has now become a 2 year old problem... We need to get a dmen that will take care of business. Chow, Hackett, Kilger, Petrov, Audette, Dackell, Lindsay, Dyk, Traverse are all spare parts that could be easily sacrificed to find this guy.

To me, it looks like Hossa's been handled just right. He comes up and is neither lost nor overwhelmed. Who's to say whether that would've been true had he been up in October? Not us, surely. Jodoin and Savard, more like it. When I see a more or less smooth transition to the pros (and Hainsey's so far also qualifies as smooth) it suggests that they took the right amount of time with the kid. In terms of confidence and other intalligibles, it's much better that a prospect stay an extra month or an extra 3 months in the AHL than come up before he's ready. And if we didn't have injuries and the team was going good, another 3 months in Hamilton wouldn't harm Hossa at all.

They're being handled the way I thought young players should be - ie, when they are ready, a spot is open, but no kid is force-fed icetime. However, what I dislike about it all it that to have a few kids in the lineup, it took not only injuries, but also having several big contracts underperforming badly, getting sent down, and injuries as well. When would Hossa and Hainsey have gotten chances if Audette, Chow, Dykhuis were playing as they can ? Having Lindsays and Bouillon's and Traverses (ie - fairly cheap spare parts who we can dump, sit or send down whenever) is way more economical. Still, some guys aren't being given chances at all, for no clear reason IMO - Ward comes to mind. But hey, the end result is looking good. Except for Ribeiro, then again, I'm souring on Ribs pretty fast, and I wonder when Habs management will reach the conclusion that he isn't a good fit.
