For inquiring minds, here's Bob McKenzie's column. www.tsn.ca/columnists/bob_mckenzie.asp Also it has been reported that Savard was fined 50 G's, and Therrien was slapped with 25 G's. I can only hope that this money is used wisely. Like going to the North American Hair Cutting Institute, or some such thing. Just think of all those beautiful new doos that could be had with that kind of research and development coin. Sad day for hockey.

If I owned the Hab's I would tell Buttman that I will not pay a penny of it but instead I will hire a laywer and sue the league and the Fraser.
THAT would get their attention big time.
I can not help but feel that the Hab's have no clout with the league. When Quinn complains things start to get ugly but Savard seems to be irrelevent.
It's pretty simple really. If you can't communicate then you need to use a baseball bat.

Fraser's poor refereeing seen by the NHL as an opportunity to reward itself by fining Savard and Therrien for reacting to their team obviously being jobbed out of a win. You've just been mugged, and now the cops show up to kick the Saperlipopette out of you. What a league. NHL = New Heights of Larceny.

The bottom line is if the habs don't make the playoff and they miss by a tie breaker or by 1 point, then GG has all the right in the world to sue the NHL and because the head offices are in New York, then the case would be held in New York. Each playoff series adds up to millions in revenue, also the players, unless they have clauses in their contract, don't get paid extra for the palyoffs, so all of the revenue goes to the team. GG could sure the league for damages and know the US civil courts, he would probably win. How many time have NFL owners (Al Davis et al.) taken the NFL to court?
