Mon 23 at New York Islanders Loss 3-1 Fri 27 at Ottawa Senators Loss (OT) 3-2 Sat 28 at Pittsburgh Penguins Loss 3-2 Tue 31 at Calgary Flames Tie 1-1 Thu 2 at Vancouver Canucks Loss 3-2 Sat 4 at Edmonton Oilers Loss (OT) 5-4 Tue 7 at New Jersey Devils Loss 3-2 Lost 6 games out of 7 all by 1 measly goal-- Francois Gagnon said on 110% last night that we played poorly only on 3 occasions- 3rd period vs Islanders/ 2nd period vs Pens/ 1st period vs Oilers and I think that he is correct. With the proper personnel on the ice, a good bounce here and there we could have done much better point wise. Lets hope that this trip isn't nearly as critical as it now appears to be. Anyway its over, time to move on and win, win, win.

I think the Ottawa and Pittsburgh games were two of the worst games Montreal have played this year. I can't remember many games where I was more disgusted with their play, ever. The rest of the roadtrip wasn't exactly impressive either. The shots on goal problem seems to be getting worse. Also I saw some things that really puzzled me: whenever an opposing player carried the puck down the left side into the the habs' zone, whoever was supposed to be defending him, regardless of the situation (2 on 2, 1 on 2, 2 on 1, etc.) would back away and give the puck carrier tons of space. I saw that numerous times in just a few games and it almost seems like the coaches have instructed them to do that. Even Markov did it once which is completely contrary to his style of playing.

Definitley frustrating I also have had computer problems....anyways. The Habs are in abit of disaray but they did get ripped off 3 points on the trip by some bad calls. In Pitt the disallowed goal because the video replay judge can not make judgement calls and of course the Devil disater with Mr. Fraser. Things could have been alot different.could have had a possible four more points if you include the Ottawa fiasco. Atleast they were in most games. The thing tthat kills is us is the breakdowns we do have are so horrific you wonder if these guys ever played hockey before!Too many of the goals our D is off in some other land leaving the goalies out to dry. The next four games are critical,if they don't win them Mt has got to go! Three weeks ago were in 6th now were what 11th,lets hope the boys can get on a roll with so many teams back in it they have no choice. HFTO

Well as Bill Parcells would say, you are what you're record says you are. In this case a .500 team which is about right. If played well in most of the games and still lost, then that just means you're not good enough to beat the better teams...
I don't see any silver linings in the road trip. It was pretty much an unmitigated disaster, that could very well end up being the turning point when we miss the playoffs.
