Well yesterday's loss might have been partially influenced by Fraser but there are lots of things to build on (specially negative ones) about yesterday's performance. Yes the reffery made a bad call but lets not fool our selves, We lost this game, we did not play anywhere near our capabilities.
THINGS THAT TICK ME OFF:
1) JAN BULIS: I know there are lots of supporters of Jan here including me, but I seriously do not think he is suited for top line business. Even on a brake away he managed to shoot 1 ft wide on the net. He does lots of things well but for me he is far more effective on the third line. Can someone remind me why Kilger was removed from the top line... One will say he was inconsistent (I think he has something like 7 points in 8 games on the top line, do not know what is wrong with those stats).
2) Patrick Traverse: I know he had a few good games and I also noticed that everyone is bashing Brisebois for the last few weekes. Have you noticed that the Brisebois bashing started when Traverse was promoted to a #2 dmen along with Brisebois. He seems to be one of the guy that hurts the team the most and makes you realize how much we are a better team with Sheldon Sourray.
3) Czerkawski seems to have found is touch again (10pts in 5games with the Bulls) I think he might be ready for action and would make a good combination with Ribeiro....A lot better then Audette IMO. Audette had two good chances yesterday where he missed both of them to Martin Brodeur who made two very nice saves (I guess Audette is unlucky). But beside these two chances he gave the puck away so many times to NJ, everytime that trio was on the ice (Hossa, Perreault, Audette) and that they would loose the puck it seemed to be a bad play from Audette. Why not sending him to the AHL so he can regain confidence and posibly is touc arround the net.....and bring back Czerkawski.
4) Gilmour's back problems are hurting us a lot more then people think!
5) MT's uses of timeoffs....he should have called a timeout on NJ'second goal and did not!
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE:
1) I think Ribeiro played a solid game everytime he and Kilger wher on the ice there where something happening. The same thing could be said about Hossa.
So why not going back to the basics of what we know works fine...
1) Kilger with Koivu and Zednik...Was by far the best combination for that line.
2) Gilmour, Perreault, Hossa (Perreault-Hossa where playing well together, Gilmour-Perreault where also playing well together so the three of them should be nice to see).
3) Bulis, Juneau, Dackell (Why changing something that works...They are scoring more when playing with each other then they cumulatively do split on various lines.
4) Czerkawski, Ribeiro, Mckay...See if it works out well.
On Defense pray for Sourray to come back and go with:
Markov, Rivet
Souray, Brisebois
Hainsey, Quintal
