Audette is horrible and he's missed so many scoring chances at the net and he gets knocked out of the play way too easily. Problem is he's going to get 3 million for the next two years and we are stuck with paying him that. He will never be the same as before his injury. I would get rid of him for nothing. Him and Czerkawski. It's time to bring up some size in the form of Hossa and Ward. We need some hungry guys to spark up the team.

Audette before this year scored 240 goals in 12 NHL seasons for an average of 20 goals per season. In the last 4 years, he had only one very good season (32g+29a=71tp) in Atlanta where he was playing on the first line and on the PP with Ray Ferraro and Andrew Burnette. He's now 33 years old, and he was inactive most of last year after suffering a very serious injury where his left hand was almost sliced off by a skate. He's never been a particularly fast skater because of his bad knees and he is now even slower because of some added weight during his inactivity last year that he hasn't been able to lose entirely. His face surely looks much rounder than during his Buffalo years. Can an aging, huffing and puffing, slow Donald Audette find the same productivity he had when he was in his prime ? I seriously doubt it. His injury last year must also have taken its toll on his soft and quick hands. My conclusion is that AS got really screwed by the Stars' GM, not as much on account of the players he had to give in return but because of the $12 million contract over 4 years he was suckered into accepting.

The only way we get rid of him is by picking up a similar long term deal in return IMO.
I just hope he retires...say he ends the year with 2 goals...isn't that the alarm bell for him to retire?
