Currently on a conditioning stint.
Hmmm... Mironov's back after saying he wouldn't return until traded, and is currently working himself back into shape. Donald Audette is receiving prime minutes, after rumors suggested Chicago was interested in acquiring him. Karl Dykhuis has seen his minutes slashed...
Nah...

Well, I've read that the Habs are definitely one of the teams inquiring about Mirinov. Who knows.
Cheers.

Well he's another twist. I read over at HF, that someone was saying they heard on the radio that Chow has left packed his bags and left Hamilton. No word on where he is going, or if it's true.

I am not sure what to think of this one guys. I have been reading around and not too many people say good things about mironov ... things like: 1. FAT 2. Lazy 3. not a team player ( for obvious reasons) 4. Only shows up once every 3 games. By getting Mironov (Hypothetically speaking , of course), I am not sure if it will help us in the long run. For sure, he is an upgrade over 5 of our defenseman. But, our defenseman aren't that good. Are we going in the right direction with Boris? or are we going in circles with more of the same? If what these people are saying holds true...there's gotta be better options out there. I would rather go with a younger guy who doesn't have a bad rep.. there are some out there. I am not saying no....but, I would think twice before pulling the trigger. Are we getting an experienced, dependable defenseman? or someone else's problems? cheers.

Rabbits eat carrots, medium rare roast beef on fresh rye is good and Therrien is the Hab's coach. *sighs heavily* What are you saying? You think there is a trade brewing? Sort of an exchange of their stale meat byproduct for our long dead rooster? I’ll buy that. *as he cries into his Richard sweater a little more*

I look at it this way: Mironov is a UFA after this year(current salary is 3.3 million) Chow is under contract for next year at 2.6 million So Habs spend a little more now but save a cool 2.6 million next year they can spend wherever they want Of course it would be better if Audette was in the deal ;D

Sure he has struggled. But there were times where I found he was doing ok. Much better than Audette. Still, he gets the gate. I hope Audette is going the other way! (if a deal is in the works, that is)

The team definitely needs a shake up, but Mironov, no thanks. I watched this guy toil for years with the Oilers, and he is the Russian version of Brisebois. Limited offensive upside that is terrible defensively. This is a lateral move if not a backwards one.

So we pick up 150K this year, to say 2.85M next year. Now my math isn't great, but I think we save a buck or two in the deal. But I don't believe it, and until it's reported on RDS or TSN, it hasn't happened.

Czerk to Chicago makes more sense to me. I think this is actually going to happen, but what do I know. I mean, I know a lot, but this involves witchcraft because trading Czerk is like making Natalie Portman out of a spare ferret....Anyway, I do hope it happens.
This I can say with some certainty: Czerk will get on track if he goes to Chicago and he'll score 15 goals the rest of the way. It's too bad, really, because many of us said "Czerk or Audette" way back in June, and unfortunately we're stuck with the older, smaller, slower, more expensive, less productive of the two....

I agree. Czerkawski has been mishandled from the get go & because of this we may get a UFA with questionable attitude. He has left his team before - back in 95-96 with the Jets. It only lasted several days & he came back. I like the idea Marc brought up about the contact savings but jeez - is this the best way out of this mess?
