Gratton and Ward are tearing up the AHL and the HABS can't use what they provide?
Grit, roughness and bit of an agitating edge ? Inspired play ? a never-give-up attitude ? Solid play in every zones ?
Goodness the people in charge are so blind.

No room for them because of all the contracts...

If there is no room because of contracts, make room. Ward, by his play, should have been called up a long time ago.
As time passes, it's starting to look more and more that Savard is making moves that are detrimental to the team. Audette shouldn't be playing, but because of his large contract Savard wants him on the ice. Mistake. Czerkawski should be given a legit shot and is sitting in the AHL. Mistake. Young players in the AHL that have earned at least a couple game stint in the NHL (developmental) are not getting the call. Mistake IMO. Give them a taste, so they get hungry, and play like if they ever make it back up, there's no way they can be sent down. Call it necessary grooming. Only Hainsey has been called from the farm. I understand the shielding concept of a young D man, but in our case he can skate circles around 5 of our D-men. Let him see the ice. Brisebois contract and no trade clause. Huge mistake. Having no captain at the head of the ship? Good reason to call for Savard's head if he doesn't do something about it and damn quick.

I remember a few weeks ago reading an interview done with GG where he said our kids are developing more quickly than they expected. Is that it? AS tought it would take another full-year or two before any of our young forwards could help us? Glad to see Ward developing his offensive game. All is not lost for him. If only that rumor of Audette to Chicago could become reality... sigh...

Yeah GG said one of the so called ''problems'' right now is the kids in Hamilton are doing better than they expected which puts pressure on the Habs to play and leads to posts like this one ;D

Doc will probably recognize this message because I posted it elsewhere yesterday:) I'm just too lazy to write it again (good ole copy and paste).
Waive, release or trade (for whatever you can salvage) Czerkawski, Audette, Lindsay and Blouin. Demote Ribeiro. Recall Hossa, Gratton, Garon and Ward. Move Petrov, Hackett and Dykhuis for a decent heavyweight to sit on the bench (instead of punching bag Blouin) and a serviceable LD with some hair on his butt. You will gain size, character and enthusiasm.
Oh yeah.....fire MT:)

Since Czerkawski's down in Hamilton, there is a roster spot open for someone, at least for a few days until Petrov is activated. This is a perfect opportunity for a callup. Too bad the team is out west, could have called up Ward or Gratton for a game or two.

could have called them up last week, but we didnt, AS doesnt want to call any forwards up right now, and considering it would have only been for a game or two i don't really disagree too much. we really need to get rid of some dead weight so guys like ward, hossa, and gratton aren't held down too long, and lose their hunger.
