who is the Duck walker? God I am pissed and at the same time happy. We got a point we NEVER should have had but we choked AGAIN. This is so frustrating. This team can't hold a damn lead with under a minute to go. It happened tonight, it happened the last time in Ottawa, it happened in Colorado, against Pittsburgh, etc. Theo is back but it won't matter if we always play like this!!!!

There is no hope until we have a coaching change. Another 38-12 shots game. No plan, no system, no concept of how to handle players = no chance. Just think...an NHL coach should be amongst the top 50 in the world (raucous laughter). And Bob Hartley sits at home. Well done AS.

This operation requires stealth, cunning and the daring that only HabsRus trained beer drinking ninjas can accomplish. Are you in? I can not really tell you the details of the operation other then the secret code name. Operation: "Tie Therriens N*ts to a Fast Moving Train". Now I know I have to keep you in the dark but are you in? If you care to join me, bring some very rough rope.

Won't do any good to single out who did what wrong. This is the second game in a row where the Habs have been out played as a team. Here's what I saw: Theodore holding the fort Karl Dykhuis using some muscle Theodore holding the fort McKay, Gilmour and Perreault are our most consistent trio Theodore holding the fort Bill Lindsay needs to learn the praying mantus style of Karate, or balance lessons of another kind anyway Theodore holding the fort This Mike Fisher guy is the real deal. See him clear Rivet out of the crease Theodore holding the fort When les good guys decide to play well, they play well. When they collectively stink out the joint, Theo and Hack play well. Oh well ... Cheers.

Well I thought our PK was very good against the #2 PP in the league. The refs had some weak calls, but the shove of Rivet into Theo was brutal. But we got a point out of a road game where we didn't deserve a point. Theodore was sharp, and I thought Dykhuis wasn't that bad tonight, and Hainsey seemed ok. The 3rd line was our best, IMO. To bad a questionable play on Rivet, and a Brezzy blunder cost Theo the win though.

Honestly, as HA said, it was a well deserved loss. I'll qualify that even more by saying the better team won and rightly so.
If we had pulled that off I'm sure there would be lots of posts pointing out all of the positives that contributed to the win. But, I'll be honest with you, there were very few positives on this night. 12 shots on goal? How many against Buffalo? Hmmm ... We were out played by a wide margin for the second straight game.
Yes, give the PK unit credit where credit is due and the shove on Rivet was questionable. But, the first thing that went into my head after it happened was, "... why did Rivet turn his back on him ..." I'm not saying the play was legal, but I've seen far worse not called.
As for Brisebois, well, he did play a pretty good defensive game up to that point. But, it wasn't his fault for losing the game (not to worry buds, I'm not saying your referring to it either).
Pittsburgh is hot, but we've played them pretty well over the last while. Have to wait and see what happens tomorrow. Cheers.

Sorry, HA, will have to be away for that road trip. but.....I have a younger brother in Edmonton, whose Christmas present was a ticket to the game, so I'll ask him to smuggle his sling shot into the rink, get a seat behind the Habs bench, and play David to MT's goliath. If that doesn't work, it'll have to be the CN special.

Was at the game tonight. HA seems pretty well on beam. I would add Markov to the list of Habs stars- this kid is cool, calm and collected. I really am impressed. And I agree with Montreal that the 3rd line played well.
The Koivu line was invisible, especially Zednik. At one point MT had Lindsay replace Kilger to inject some life but to no avail. And the 4th line, well keep these guys off the ice. Audette took a really dumb penalty, then stayed on way too long after he got out of the penalty box. He was totally useless, including on the PP. Ribs was not far behind- this guy may be deft with the puck but he's hopeless in his own end. Given the kind of defensive (if you can call it that) game the coaches seem to want he's really out of place on the 4th line.
Boys didn't show up until the half way mark of the second. It seemed like they might make it in the 3rd until the final couple of minutes when Ottawa kicked it into a higher gear and by then the 3 lines (only 2 effective) and 4 dmen that MT was mainly using were dog tired. They would be much bettter off shedding Audette and Ribs and getting a grind it out 4th line that at least won't hurt you defensively to give the other guys a breather.
Rivet was pushed into Theo but you got to wonder if a really strong dman would have avoided that, but again he was probably pretty tired. In Breezer's defence, his skate seemed to catch a rut when he was turning to check on the winning goal. Again dog tired.
If the Habs had won this one it would haver been robbery. Ottawa played by far the better game, made a couple of mistakes in their own end which the Habs capitalized on but deserved to win. The Habs just don't yet have enough talent and not the coaching to compete with the better teams when they are playing well.

I thought Rivet bumped into Theo...did Fisher push Rivet on Theo? What makes this loss tough is Bolts won, Caps won, Leafs could win tonight,etc..

Good, cause realistically, the only way Savard will move on MT is if the playoffs and the playoff money is in jeopardy.

???I thought Rivet bumped into Theo...did Fisher push Rivet on Theo? Yes, however, Craig did a good job initially taking him out at the side of the net and then decided to turn his back to him. Fisher nudged Craig a tad, which left him open. Cheers.

Well, for what it's worth here's what I saw. Beauty play by Traverse on the first goal. Habs had no business even being in this game. Seems like they have to have someone step up to the plate (McKay tonight) before they realize they are in a hockey game. Koivu and Zednik were invisible but I thought Kilger played a good game. The tying goal was good all the way. What would you expect Fischer to do? Theodore was on his game again. Which is really moot, cause if you're going to get outshot 2-1 every game, well the chickens will come home to roost eventually. Some will say, "ooh, all the shots came from the outside so it doesn't matter". I say cow cookies. Brisebois deserves a raise. There are 29 other G.M.'s in this league that would guffaw in your face if that proposal was made by his agent. Like Craig Simpson said the other night on the radio "Nobody else in the league would pay him that kind of money". Actually anybody else in the league would be stupid to pay him half the salary he's getting today. Far and away, AS's worst move. On his mediocre nights, on his good nights, and on his excellent nights, I still stand behind my opinion, that this guy is one of the worst hockey players I have ever seen play. Ah well, I've been venting about this for over a decade, and the song remains the same. Give him a raise I say. I'd take Traverse over him any day of the week, and let it be known my fingers are shaking uncontrollably as I type.

Was at the game tonight. HA seems pretty well on beam. Wait until you see what I can do when my blood alcohol level is below spontaneous combustion levels. The first line is suppose to supply the fireworks and get things going. When those three stooges play like they were in a fog, well, what do you expect? Ya see HW, because of the brilliant coaching and the selection of personnel, the brilliant Mr. Therrien was able to distribute the work load and allow his key players to be fit and rested. Do you expect less from our one puck short of Einstein of hockey? Combine it with the two most expensive twiddle winks defenseman in hockeydom and you can see the mind rifting pleasure they cause us. (Please Lord, help me keep my sanity in these troubled Hab-not times).

I saw the tying goal again. Man if the Sens got called on that one, they would have had every reason to complain. Fisher barely touched Rivet and Craig really stumbled into Theo. No way that is a penalty.
Like I said...glad we got the point...because no way we deserved it...

HA, I'll be in Calgary awaiting further instructions! I've got lower bowl seats for the new years game and can probably get access to the players bench area.
