Yannick Perreault with his latest tear could be in the top 10 scoring at the Christmas break. The last time we could have said that was when Saku Koivu did it before his devastating knee injury. And the team is scoring, Montreal sits 8th in team scoring right now. Would you just imagine what this team could be with a defensive system?
Great job Yannick, Dougie and Randy keep it up!!!!

and was Koivu even in the top 10 in goal scoring that year? I know he was in points but was he in goals?
anyways, YP is a streaky scorer and right now he is on a tear. Last year, he also had a great start, but slowed down right about this time because the other team was always targetting him(he was our number 1 center). Now, with Koivu back, Yanick isn't always facing the other team's best D and it's only helping him.

Who are all those alleged fans who wanted to trade him? Perrault, Koivu, Theodore and Hackett are getting the job done for us. Trade the guys who are NOT producing, not the ones who are.

by the looks of things we could wind up the season with two 35+ goal scorers ;D yanic's 17 in 34 games has him on pace for 41, and zedders 16 in 32 games has him on pace for 40, if both players play all remaining games this season. with the kind of streaky scorer yanic is i wouldn't be surprised for him to go cold and wind up the season just over 30, but to date this season zed's been very consistantly averaging 1 goal every two games or so, i'm certain he's the real deal and if he stays healthy he'll be chasing 40 come the end of the season. here's to having two 35 or even 40 goal scorers ;D

Koivu and Zednick will be fine as long as they don't have to drag Donald Audette around for 10 or 12 minutes every game. Leave Kilger where he is and this line will finish with very decent numbers. If Kilger keeps it up he'll get 15+ goals.

I was one of them. Still am, actually. He could fetch us something we need and as JV pointed out, help solve our problem deadweight personnel in DA and Chow. But I'm loving this tear lately, it's nice to see two lines producing rather than one.

I agree that it's possible that we could have two 40+ scores but if only one is going to do it, it will be Zed. He's much more consistent and he's a better hockey player.
If Cz ever gets on track, and i think last night gave us some hope, this team could be scary.
Although kilger had a wide open net last night it still took some skill to convert. Aud would have fanned or shot it wide and blamed saku for the pass. Keep Aud off the first line and nowhere near the pp!

Keep Aud off the first line and nowhere near the pp! Indeed. I still don't have a clue why MT plays DA on the PP....it makes no sense to me. If you're going to play someone inept on the line continually, why not give Chow a chance? I mean, he can't do much worse. And last night's pass was a beaut.

Indeed. I still don't have a clue why MT plays DA on the PP.... I do. He and Savard have this idea that if Audette can boost his numbers to 6 goals and 6 assists over 40 games he'll be tradeable.....

I am also one of the guys who suggested we should trade Perreault. I haven't changed my position on this even tho he is hot right now. As mentionned by others, he is a streaky player and we need consistency on the second line. I believe that Perreault's streak is widely dependant on Dougie's performances. As long as Gilmour keeps setting him up with incredible passes, he will keep putting them in. Perreault is a good player and a very good scorer, but I don't see him as the type of player who can create something out of nothing. It's is obvious that with a solid playmaker, Perreault is more effective. As long as Gilmour is hot, so goes YP. But, all this talk is probably useless as some have pointed out, he has a no-trade clause. But it was fun talking about it anyway!

That would be great to see I think we'll see Zed and Yanic atleast hit the 30 goal plateau. Lets hope Saks is in the 20's that would be sweet. HFTO

Well I'm a fan, and I would like to see Perreault and Hackett traded, but Chow, Audette, and Dykhuis should be moved first. Hackett we either trade or lose for nothing, and if we don't trade him at some point, we also will most likely lose Garon as well. Audette and Chow, I just don't like, but it will be tough for Savard to move them. Perreault, is a tough one, I don't like him very much, but if he stays another year, it's not a big deal. He does have a really good wrist shot, but he's also very soft and lazy in his own end at times. Recently he's been much much better. He's gone from -7 to -1, over the last 2 weeks, which I wish Audette could do the same.
