So the Rangers have signed Cory Cross today pending a physical. According to The FAN 590 they expect him to step right into the lineup??? Maybe they could have just called up Kloucek if they hadn't of dealt him to Nashville! ;D

but they already have guys who get their hands dirty...Petrovicky, Barnaby, McCarthy, Purinton, Dwyer, etc
They simply lack pure skill on the wings and a good defensive system. Even with Bure that roster is far from an offensive powerhouse. And defensively...they are bad....

I wouldn't get too excited about this one. I don't think Cross will pass the physical as I see him at the bar every thursday night here in t.o.....hammered!

they lost Poti with a broken foot.... this downgrades their offence but improves their defensive play... So their blueline looks like? Malakhov-Kasparaitis Litner-Bouchard Karpa-Cross Ouch. When is Leetch due back?

and BC has egg on his face for saying they would be the best team in the east this year ;D Yep, and they weren't even scrambled. All gooey, and yellow, and sticky. Very gross. In my own defense though, they have suffered a lot of injuries. I mean geez, they had to play a 19 year old goalie for like 20 games straight. Plus, they lost Leetch, Holik, Messier, and now Bure for significant amounts of time. Not to mention the regular, nagging little injuries that have cost them games here and there. Oh well. Sucks to be them (and it should be noted that they are a grand total of 3 points behind us, 6 points out of a 2nd in the Conference, and only 1 point out of a playoff spot...).

They have a 70 freakin' million dollar payroll. They should have a boatload of depth at every position at that price. As an example, The Red Wings have suffered injuries as well. No Yzerman, no Fischer, Datsyuk injured, Legace has been injured,etc...and yet they have been playing great hockey pretty much all season for 10 million less than the NYR

Looks like the Rangers got some good news re Bure. The exploratory surgery indicated that the ACL in both knees was OK. Bure is now apparently expected back in late January.

The good news is that if they're reduced to signing people like Cory Kross, there must be real trouble in River city. Blech. Then I am reminded that we have Quintal, Dykhuis, Traverse and also Rivet, who is quickly approaching them in grossness. Thank god for our goaltending.

Maybe we could get the rangers to sign Gaudi, Chewie, Gykhuis and Travesty. They seem to like waste boat loads of cash, AS should see if they would take them off of our hands.

Total injury-forced signing... man, our luck is almost as bad as yours has been the past few years with injuries! Bryce Lampman is a prospect, 20 yr old kid, going straight to Hartford.
