Hello everyone,
I was at the game tonight, damn, it was great!
very exciting game!
Dany Dube of CKAC often says that the stenght of Montreal is their counter-strike, we had a proof again tonight! Zednik is sooo fast, incredible.
whoah! i'll stop here because i'm a bit drunk, but again, i repeat myself, great game! very exciting! keep it up habs!

more thoughts:
maybe not related to the post-game thread but still remotely connected.
i've read this board (and some others) for a long time, i noticed alot of things and among them, that Therrien and Audette doesn't have many supporters.
I'm not really neither. but i think people exagerate.
Why does Therrien always has all the insults when we lose but no credits when we win. I remember seeing him in interview after the Dallas game and he was pissed (en tabarnak). He spoke about how he was angry at the the lack of intensity of the players. he said that we were not beaten but we gave them goal. I agree with him on that point. Since then, they played with a lot more intensity and it shows how much it can make a difference in the game so i'm sure he deserves some credits for it. I was a Laval Titans fan at the time and maybe that's why i'm a bit defending him (and Hartley). He may be not the best coach available (Gainey and Robinson come to mind). But i'm sure that he's not the worst neither. But he needs a good tactician assistant for sure.
I will go as far as to say that Therrien outcoached Ftorek tonight, like the last win in Boston. His usage of Juneau was great. Even if Blouin took a stupid penalty in first, it was a good idea to send him on the opening line. Tonight Brooins, you're in Montreal and you will not have it easy. and it was great to hear Thornton beeing booed everytime he touched the puck.
For Audette, i think his injury really had a effect on him and he lost his pure sniper touch that make him worth of playing on a second line (maybe). But still, i'd rather see him than Czerkawski. I had high hopes on Chow and i'm really desparate on him. skates into the zone, oh a defenseman, puts breaks, dumps the puck, then nothing from him until his other shift. At least Audette has some chance, he goes to the net despite his small size and shows more character. You hear about Audette missing lots of chance, you never hear about Chow getting any chance.
anyway!
it was so great to be at bell centre tonight. i love to see players live, you notice things that are apparent on tv but live it is so much obvious: Traverse, is he tall! but skinny, and wuss, incredible, Quintal and Kilger are huge, Zednik is FFFAST!! incredible! like on his goal and some other times, man! does he skate, you could feel how much the Bruins defenseman were giving all they had to catch up on the guy but he was like wind surrounding them!
it was a great win! pure Habs speedness, character, goaltending and crowd against a maybe more skilled, but more goon and cheap shot, low character team.
Ooolééé, Olé, Olé, Olééééé! Ooolééé, Ooolééé!
ps: i was proud to show my new Markov hab jersey and i think he had a good night, but he was not at his best defensively and i think Zed deserved the first star more than him. And i think he really dived on the Lapointe penalty. anyway, great overall defenseman and it's the closest player to Lidstrom that we have. Bisebois plays very well too, overall defense played a good night compared to other nights. Quintal is more useful on the ice than he was weeks ago. Maybe the talk with Koivu has a thing to do with it.

Also Markov is going to get himself into trouble by going down so easy.

As for the game, I noticed the team is playing better since Kilger moved up to the top line. I read Koivu's comments saying Kilger works hard and creates space for them. I have to admit, I was harsh on Kilger this year, and I've called him stone hands many many times, but he and the 1st line are really playing well. (And their 25, 28, and 26 years old ) I was harsh on Kilger, Traverse, Theodore, Quintal, and Ribeiro they all seem to be playing better lately some a lot more then others. Now if that would just work on Audette, Chow, Petrov, Perreault (who had a good game, even making a very good play in his own end). It seems the team is trying to clog up the netrual zone. Did they just figure this out, or did someone slip Therrien a mickey. The PK looks much better, the PP looked very good (hit a few posts and 1 goal) and with good goaltending, they played a strong game against the best team in the east. I am really shocked that they beat boston twice outscoring them 8-4 in 2 games. So far we have won 3 games in december, all by the score of 4-2. On the other hand, I didn't like Audette's game, and one of him or Chow or both have to go. I never vote to buy out a player, but I am starting to think that maybe thats what might be better for the team. If Audette's arm is the cause of his problems then he should retire, cause he doesn't look like the same player from last season. He does get some shots, and he had a assist tonight, but it looked like a weak shot that Perreault caught and put in. I really don't know what they should do with them, but something has to be done.

Agreed on Audette no win situation. The only thing in this game that actually peeved me(besides the bruins' cheapshots) was 8 PP's and every one was out there except Blouin(no problem) and KILGER! This I am totally dumfounded with. You have a guy that has been jumping between the 3rd and mainly 4th lines along with the pressbox and doesn't say jack or raise a fuss in the media then gets put on the first line and produces better than anyone else that's been put there, has 4 goals/5 pts in his last 5 games. Now out of those 5 games the boys have had 25 PP's and how much time do you think Chad has gotten on the PP.....51 whole seconds, all in 1 game no less. I don't want to be negative(as that is more Viper's MO ) because this was a very good game all around by pretty much everyone but stuff like that bugs me, when a guy is hot and the pucks are going in for him and I see him sitting on the bench for entire PP's.

well, I would like to see Kilger on the PP as well but the only usefulness he would have on it is by going in front of the net and trying to deflect a Markov or Briser point shot. But at even strength the KKZ line is pretty damn good and like Montreal says they are young so that is nice and to conclude, Jan Bulis...if you want a top line promotion, you have to put those empty netters in...in fact as a team, with a 2 goal lead we always seem to miss an empty netter or two
