Looks like the Sabres may move him. Questions to discuss: 1- should the Habs go after him? 2-Should the Habs deal one of their top prospects to acquire Satan? 3- is he worth it? or should we pass and try to get a better player? I would love to see Satan in Montreal but I can't see the Sabres dealing him within their division. It is still possible for them to make the playoffs and the Habs would be a team they'd have to catch. Maybe we could tempt them with alumnist Audette? ;D

Me thinks it would cost Hainsey and maybe more...
Not too sure I would make that deal. I'd rather deal Hainsey for a Ryan Smyth type power forward more than another skilled/finesse guy(considering our luck with those types in recent seasons!)

i'll pass, if we're gonna aquire a third star forward then i'd rather have it be a rough, tough one. zed and saks are tough for their size, but aren't real bruisers. satan is a great player, but for what we would have to give up for him i think the team can aquire a much more useful player.

Hainsey and a lot more Marc... Hainsey is a prospect in the minor while Satan is an established star. Zednik AND Hainsey would be a start...

HELLO GUYS IT'S MY FIRST POST HERE, I HAVE BEEN FOLLOwING FOR A WHILE , THEREFORE I DECIDED TO JOIN THE HABS TRAIN.
Concerning Miro Satan, it would be crazy to think that he could not help the Habs, anyone could help them, but I doubt e would get traded to the same division even though the Sabres are in last place. There is no way we will be able to dump Audette and Marius to anyone, especially together. It's sad to see that we are stuck with these 2 guys when Hossa and Ward are ready to jump. I think that if the Hbas do trade, they will have no choice to include a young prospect in the likes of Hossa or Ward or Hainsey. This is why I think Savard has not moved yet. He had a good chance with the Rangers to trade for Hackett, but isnt funny that something always happens when we are about to trade Hack. Or he gets injured or we desperatly need him because The Door is wide open. It's too bad because we will lose him at the end of the year for nothing, and personnaly I will be sad to see him go, he is a good guy and a great goalie. Anyways I hope to never see Audette play and if the Sabres want him in a package deal, take him. Satan is a great player and could help get some shots on the net, so like that we could get outshot 38-28 isntead of 20. But Kilger is great on the first line and Gilmour's passing has reappered and maybe if we play better at home we could get into the backdoor and face the Bruins again in the first round. Now that would be awesome!!!!!!

Altho I believe that Satan is a quality player, I wouldn't go for him for the following reasons: 1. Buffalo is in the same division. AS won't likely deal with them. 2. In order to land him, we would need to give up too much of the future. The asking price would be too high. 3. We need to get better, but we also need to get bigger. Especially on defense. I would rather move on a tough defender rather than a sniper. I believe that we have enough firepower, what we lack is strong defense who are good in transition. 4. Satan is tall (6'3'') but he isn't heavy (190 lbs). If we are to get a forward, I would look to getting a strong, heavy and mobile second line winger. I believe that Kilger is doing a stand-up job on the top line. Leave him there. Conclusions: We don't need him. It would be nice to have him, but I think our need on defense is much greater. Cheers, TheHabsfan

I'm so bitter right now with MT that I think we could acquire Forsberg and Blake and I still couldn't really get into this team.
We need a coaching change, and until that happens I can't cheer for this team like I would normally do.
Satan's a pretty good player, but it's just a waste of talent here right now. We're looking more like the Rangers everyday, except we pick-up second-tier over-paid stars, unlike their first-tier over-paid stars.

Hainsey and Maybe more!!! Hainsey and a lot more Marc... Hainsey is a prospect in the minor while Satan is an established star. Zednik AND Hainsey would be a start... Zednik+Hainsey is way too much on our front. Zednik is probably just a notch under Satan right now and by the time he is 28 will probably be in Satan's class.
