Tough one...Chow and Dykhuis get the goat horns for goals number 2 and 3... and MT for changing something that was working(Kilger on top line) in the last few minutes for something that wasn't(Ribs with Koivu and Zed).

Was it just me, or did it seem like the puck was bouncing around like tennis ball tonight. It seemed like nobody could control the puck because it was either rolling or bouncing around.
You're right Marc, Dykhuis had no business pinching on the third TB goal. And Hackett was slightly out of position, leaving to much room for St. Louis. Easy pickings for him. Nice little player. He is a Petrov with finish!!

I have no problem with pinching defensemen. Where I do have a problem however, is when a pinching defenseman doesn't back check when the move fails. The play that cost the Habs the game was caused by the worst piece of effort that I have seen in a while. Dykhuis was coasting on his way back. With a little effort, the play would have been averted and we may still be in overtime now. Incredible that he still gets ice time. I also found that Brisebois had a rough night. A lot of turnovers and brutal coverage in the defensive zone. Not a good night. Considering that our boys were definitely tired from the road trip, I think that we gave in a pretty good effort. Gilmour is starting to get into the zone. We are starting to see what we saw after X-mas last year...and a month early to boot. It's nice to see. I am one of the few who is giving him a break. I think he will come up big for us again down the stretch. Marc: We need to give ourselves a pat on the back. We were right about Kilger. All the guy needs is a chance. Some icetime and a little confidence can make a world of difference. I am not saying that he is our Leclerc, but he is something that we lacked or refused to use. Just like Leclerc way back when.... And to think...tons of Habs fans are demanding that we trade him! Thank Heavens they aren't running things! I am going to let Chow off the hook for the play in which the 2nd goal was scored. Pedneault on RDS says it was his fault, and everybody is jumping on him. I feel that he was backchecking. He just isn't a very good backchecker. You can't compare him to Juneau , Gilmour, Dackall or Kilger for that matter. He tried. More than we can say for Dinkhouse. Cheers, TheHabsfan

Well, I disagree on Dykhuis' ''pinch''
Dykhuis, is not an offensive d-man, in a tied game with 6 minutes to go he should play conservative more than ever...he didn't and it cost us the game.
As for Kilger...of course we are right ;D

Our boys gave it a good try last night, but to me the size mis-match was very evident throughout the match. The Bolts are a fairly big club who play with grit constantly bumping our guys off the puck all over the ice. Kilger gave em a run for their money, man he looked like a giant in white to me. Now is the time for a look at Hossa and Ward or even a little trade, of course we all have been saying that for a while now.

Well, I was at the game last night and one thing that I really noticed is the shots on net. I know Therrien is always saying how, they may get lots of shots but it's the scoring chances that count. Believe it or not but I think the canadiens allow more shots because they are a smaller team... Let me explain, every time one of the habs tries to shoot, he has someone tying up his stick or all aver him, if he gets a shot off it is a very hurried shot, most of the time. Whereas in the habs zone the other team seems to move around freely, no one is tying anyone up. The lightning had time to set up most of their shots, and weren't overly hurried by the habs. When you have time to set up a shot, it may not go in every time, but you there are rebounds to be had on well placed shots. Don't forget they also hit the post twice. Another thing I noticed is Traverse, he didn't play all that bad but, he doesn't seem to make good decisions, there was one time in particular in the first, he seemed to just stay around the lightning net, for no reason, and sure enough they got a 2 on 1. Another thing I noticed is Saku Koivu, this guy has got to be one of the hardest workers in the league. If the whole team played like him, we'd be one of the best in the league.

Agreed on Koivu.
The guy is what the Habs are all about.
