Well that was a weird one. A shootout.
I am happy with the point. The Avs could have killed us right in the 1st.
Let's hope enough gas is left in the tank for tomorrow's game

No word yet. Hopefully he will be fine.
If not Hainsey gets his shot and Markov has more time to rest his foot injury(which, IMO, has been affecting him)

Entertaining game. This reinforces however what I have been saying all along. MTL needs a solid dependable defenseman more than a forward. Turnovers galore explain the shots on goal. We need a strong defenseman who strong in his own end and is good in transition. AS has to get us some reinforcements in this area. Traverse and Dykhuis had bad games, again. Quintal was much better tonight. Instead of being rotten all the time, he was only rotton on a few occasions. I find that he has his best games when he fights. I found that Brisebois was invisible tonight. I am happy with the point. I am also no so mad that we lost in overtime. Chalk this one up in the loss category and one more nail in MT's coffin. I like it. Cheers, TheHabsfan

44 shots. Holy makanaw only 24 in the 2nd/3rd/OT! Still 44 shots. You won't win 10% of your games giving up so many shots against the Avs. Defence needs to be fixed and if Markov is injured... we are in deep sh8t

It seems that once again the team was not ready to play in the first period. Everybody's got to take their share of the blame on this but it's so consistent a pattern that this has to be one of the major failings of MT as a coach. He can't get his team ready to play from the get go. How many points have been lost because the Habs have had to play catch up hockey after the first period?

The results speak for themselselves. And, for MT's benefit, nice tie.

You gotta give some credit to Hartley
With 1:30 left in the 3rd, his team down by 1, draw in our zone, he took out Roy and because of it the Avs were able to tie. They had enough time to create an attack in our zone. Which may not have been the case if Roy stays in his net(who knows what happens after...maybe the Habs control the puck and Roy can't go to the bench for a huge part of the last minute)
No shame in losing in OT against that team. Big point. Get a win tomorrow and this road trip to hell looks already decent.

Last I saw it was 12-10 Avs or something, in the 3rd. I put my game thoughts in the gameday thread, didn't see this one.

nothin wrong with starting new threads if they're useful, and marc's always seem to be. without him this board would be pretty boring a lot of the time.

As usual I missed this one as well, guys. KR called me about 15 minutes before game-time and there's a few of us meeting at Gappers Hotstove for the game on Tuesday.
I read that we still gave up 44 shots was it? Still, that aside, I would have loved to have seen that game. I mean, how many times have les good guys scored six goals in a game? And, I missed it again ...
Anyway, it was nice to see Kilger pot one and Gilmour had three points. I didn't see how his goal went in, but they described it as going in off of Roy. Some would call it a fluke, while others will insist that when you work hard goals like that go in. Heck, we'll take it.
And Quintal's shot was a bullet. Nice to see him contributing as well. Dackell's goal was nice one; waiting until Roy committed himself and then shelfing it. Nice job Dacks.
I saw the game-tying goal; the defensive coverage was horrible. I also saw the, ahem, slash, that put us down going into the OT. Not the best way to decide a shootout type of game like that. It was a bogus call IMHO; hey, colour me a whiner.
I'm going to try to get on the chat later tonight. Any of you guys going to be there? Cheers.

Joe Bowen........what a Leaf hater ..LOL Dis, the game was a shootout. Brutal D on both sides. The kind of game you like seeing once and awhile but not all the time. Let's hope the offence keeps it up. Petrov seemed to be flying last night for the first time all year. Good to see

But how often do you see 4 players get their 1st goal of the season in decemeber, and Roy with a .739 save %
