www.sportsnet.caMironov ditches Blackhawks, demands trade (posted Dec. 4, 1:18PM EST) Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Boris Mironov has left the team and demanded a trade, Sportsnet has learned. Mironov's agent, Paul Theofanous, informed the Blackhawks this morning that his client was leaving the team and wanted out. Mironov did not show up for practice. "We're going to take care of Boris' request," Blackhawks general manager Mike Smith said. "I'm a little bit surprised this happened." Sources indicated there are teams interested in Mironov, who is in the final year of his contract, making $3.3 million this season ------------------------------- Mike Smith loves sofitsh, talented, Euros........hmmmmmmmmmm......... Chow+Dykhuis for Mironov?

i'm all over that, but i don't think the hawks would make it, and truthfully if they wanted much more than that, i'd pass.

I dunno Darz..
The Hawks have trouble scoring goals for some reason. Maybe Smith will think he needs another skilled forward?
Plus teams won't be calling them hard to get a 3.3 million$ player for nothing....they will need to take some salary back

AS might be a little gun shy to take on another 3+ million dollar contract.

AS might be a little gun shy to take on another 3+ million dollar contract. If you look on $ Chow and Dykhuis come close or an even $ deal

If you look on $ Chow and Dykhuis come close or an even $ deal if chi. wanted chow at 2.6, why didn't they just take him, i assume, if this deal was discussed, we would have to eat some contract.

Well it is not as simple has that, it is less appealing to a team to pickup someone on waiver since it is just an increase on the payroll. trading provides the mean of dumping salaries as well as adding new blood to your team. Chow may not be what they are looking for and Dykuis either. But I think that for a guy who will end is contract come season end it would be fair..... Maybe Petrov and Dykhuis!

Because if they pick up Chow on waivers, they don't dump Mironov and Montreal, the only way you dump Chow or Audette is by picking up garbage in return. Mironov is a UFA at season's end and plays the right side. Quintal can sit in the pressbox where he belongs. Sounds like it could work.
