espn.go.com/nhl/columns/hradek_ej/1470467.html"In any case, as you watch your favorite team, take note of how the players are being used and where they fit on the club. If particular players are being asked to do too much or too little, your team has a slotting problem. And, probably, a losing problem, too."Relevant, or not?

Man you can not say that any better when thinking about our situation. It's not about having the most talent. It's about having the right of mix of skilled players, defensive minded players and grinders. Habs have alot of skill but few of that skill is ''elite'' and most of it is old/declining/small/soft/bad defensively
Thanks for digging that up Bad one ;D

How more exactly to the point of our problem can that article be. This is the whole concern I have had for a while now. The big picture is scary. The farm seems to have alot more talent now and i say seems to because we truly will never know until it unfolds but at least it looks better than recent year's. The current roster is a mess and almost all of it was created by our current GM. Surely it seems he has overshot the injury concern by getting too much depth but the other thing that bother's me is the lack of chemistry on the club their's an overabundance of some parts and hardly any or none of other ones. The Cerkawski trade has emphasized this point ten fold. Now it's to early to start calling for Andre's head after all it's only been 2 years but at the same time If he doesn't show signs of correcting the creation he has made in the remainder of this year or the off season well you can bet i'll be one of the first to start ringing the Fire Savard Bell. His hands are tied in moving many a player due to contracts etcetera but in almost every situation the ropes are Savards own.

Billy Joel, eh.
take note of how the players are being used and where they fit on the club
That's a pretty hard thing to do with our club right now. I'm glad there's guys here on the board that can post what lineup will be used for the next game. I'm confused now as to the lineup, imagine what I'd be like without those lineup announcements.
BC, I'm not sure as to how to define a slotting problem. Honest injun.
And, probably, a losing problem, too
They're distracted, they haven't any direction, and there's decention in the ranks. I won't flog a dead horse by citing where the problem is.
Cheers.

Every four years we build an Olympic team using the best players available. Not all the best scorers, but a combination of scorers, checkers, offensive, defensive, stars and role players. Savard has a team with two great goaltenders, one good defenseman, a captain courageous, and some decent role players. No star, no chemestry, no coaching, and no hope. Too small, too old, decent speed and no finishers.
