Right now it seems as if the habs could really use a trade or two. Both goalies are playing good, and it seems right now might be a good time to move Hackett, possibly in a package deal with the Rangers. Another player i think would be a good aquisation for the Canadiens would be Taylor Pyatt of the Sabres (6'4" 220 and a Left Winger). I'm not sure what it would take to get a guy like Pyatt, and what we could get in return for Hackett and others with the Rangers (they seem to be unwilling to part with tjutin and lundmark) or any other team that could use him. What do you guys think could be reasonable trades to improve the team at this point?

Hainsey would be the asking price for Pyatt. Bet on it. They need a stud d-man.
Call me crazy, but if we have 2-3 injuries to not key players(Gilmour kind of players), you will see team spirit improve and more consistent play from this team. Guys like Chow, Kilger and Ribs will be in the lineup more and will be happier and play with more confidence.

i wouldn't speak so soon about douggie... i agree he has been very far from key this season, but the second half is just around the corner and that's when he really shines, and i wouldn't want to see him out of the line up then... i'd rather he just park himself on a lower line for now.

Now Czerkawski is waived... who do we bring up if he is claimed? Andre must have a plan if he is willing to waive Mariusz, either he has big plans for Ward or Hossa or a deal is in the making, one in which he needs to create an extra spot in the line up. If none of this happens and Chow goes to waste, and we're left with Audette on the first line, and Petrov and Gilmour on the second i'm going to be far from happy, and will have lost faith in Andre. I just wonder who looks stupider for completely screwing up the whole Czerkawski experiment... AS for actually aquiring him in the first place, and then waiving him 24 games into the season, or MT for being ignorant to his abilities, playing him on the 4th line, and sitting him every second game or so?

Call up Hainsey. If you bring up Hossa or Ward it still leaves us with 15 forwards and a messy situation up front.
Call up Hainsey if Chow goes to another team
Call up Hossa/Ward when we have injuries or when there is another trade

i really don't think calling anyone up is a solution with therrien behind the bench, he'll give them 5 minutes a game for 2 games or so, they won't produce, so he'll label them unproductive and they'll be sent back now. a trade is needed, OR a change in coaching ;D

of course fire MT ASAP. Sheesh he keeps making Savard look bad with each passing day, why doesn't he just can him?

I wouldn't call up anyone yet. Lets see how bad this road trip goes first. Plus this opens a spot for Souray when he comes back.

yeah well i'm not sure when souray's gonna be back, but it's over a month away isn't it? in the meantime if we have an open roster spot we might as well use it. add a 7th d man like ronald hainsey or even francis bouillon, if we can't aquire one some how... there's some unrestricted free agents out there still (cory cross, steve duchense, probably others) and with 2.6 mill free'd up why not use it?
