I wonder if AS is wondering as I am, why so many players have asked to be traded? I for one cannot remember the last time any team had this many players in and out of the lineup and as many asking to be moved. Makes one wonder just what the heck is going on. We have lived through a number of years of less than average teams that did not make the playoffs, we seem to be no further ahead of where we were 4 or 5 years ago. Yes we have a good farm team but listening to most on these boards Ward et all will never be better than a 3rd or 4th liners.

No one knows what Ward and company can do up here because they haven't been given the chance.

Savard has to make room first. The problem remains, if Savard promotes a very deserving Jason Ward, who is the unlucky stiff that has to clear waivers?
The only other way would be to place someone on the injury reserve list. Savard probably knows Ward is deserving, but right now he has his hands tied.
Cheers.

I know Bulis said if the team didn't have him in his plans, that he wanted to be traded, but Savard talked with him and cleared that up quick. As for Ward, I think he's a 4th liner at best, but no one knows until he gets a shot (again) I guess the whole AHL scoring leader in december doesn't give me much hope. Although I hear his skating is better, but when you skate like your stuck in mud, one can only get better. And it can't be any worse then Ribeiro, who needs to take that cement out of his skates, cause it's slowing him down.

I'd dump Petrov before I move Lindsay.
Lindsay's a great energy player that we aren't using as often as we should... we need grit yet we aren't playing our most intense and tough player. Makes sense...
Blouin, Petrov, Czerkawski (I'd give him a fair chance though...), Audette, Dykhuis, Quintal.... anyone of those could/should go.

That's true: Lindsay is a more valuable 4th line role player than those other players, and cheaper. I'd like to give Audette's job to Czerk, and dump Audette whom I'd gladly let go for nothing if a team were willing to take on the rest of his contract. The Habs didn't really give up anything for Audette anyway, in Rosie the pending UFA floater.

How about Lindsay, Audette, McKay or Blouin. Well, I guess you to make room somewhere, Andrew, there's no denying that. I couldn't begin to tell who, but I wouldn't waive McKay or Blouin. To me, Bill Lindsay is a pretty decent 4th liner to have around when the injuries mount up. Besides, when he and his line actually get some ice time, they can produce. Or, at least they did in last year's playoffs anyway. I'd love to move Audette, but who is going to trade up with Savard for him? I was talking with CO last night and we got on the topic of Audette. At times this guy seems to be deliberately dogging it a la Scott Thorton. Maybe he just wants to get the heck out of Dodge, but then again, who is going to bite? Anyway, if a trade does come, Savard may have to eat a portion of this salary. Who would I waive? Couldn't tell you Andrew. How about Therrien Cheers.
