Well this is a big game, Dallas have yet to lose in regulation at home this season. It's the first game of a tough 4 game road trip (other stops in colorado, phoenix, and boston) and a win against the top ranked Stars would be instrumental in team confidence and having success throughout the trip. It also marks the return to Dallas of Donald Audette (seeing he actually plays). Now we'll get to the predictions and line combinations you feel are necessary for success in big D.
my line combos:
zednik - koivu - czerkawski
bulis - perreault - ribeiro
kilger - juneau - dackell
petrov - gilmour - mckay
1: czerkawski publically announced we was asking for a trade today because he feels as if therrien has lost all confidence in him. it might have not been the right thing to do, and rewarding him with 1st line status for it isn't all that smart, but he still deserves a chance, which he really hasn't gotten. he's bigger, a better scorer, and better defensively than audette, therefore he's on the #1 line in his place in my opinion.
2: jan bulis has shown remarkable improvement this season, and is not only strong defensively, but producing very well on a checking line. i feel as if he deserves a spot on a scoring line to prove himself further. mike ribeiro showed he can score in the pre season if given a top line chance, he hasn't done anything since his return from injury, but look where he's played, and with who (4th line, kilger and mckay), given a chance on a scoring line he should probably produce, it's worth a try.
3: same checking style, but minus bulis and add the big kilger. though very inconsistent kilgly can be great when he comes to play, and adds strength and size to a small line.
4: petrov and gilmour showed last year that they work well together, but haven't shown so far this year that they're 2nd line material, mckay and take punishment infront of the net creating room for the speedy petrov.
prediction: 4-3 montreal. zednik, czerkawski, bulis, and petrov score. (yeah it's a long shot, but i'm confident they'll play a strong game)
if audette's in the line up rather than chow 3-3, same scorers (minus chow ofcourse)
