HabsAddict : Well one thing is for sure there would be no favourites with this guy leading the team. The only problem is with the Louisville slugger approach we could easily be setting new man games lost to injury records. Does anyone seriously want to see this team lose 600 plus man games to injury !!!!
Johnny Verdun : This is another fine choice if you're after the no nonsense approach get down to business and tell it like it is. I'm sure this guy would take no crap from his team as well but would approach it from a different avenue than a louisville.
PTH : Fine selection but unless the GM is changed or overridden by Pierre Boivin somehow i can't see this guy being selected. unless of course their is a secret agenda to overthrow Savard if so this is the best man for the position.
Viper : Young blood behind the bench A guy who ensure's his player's earn their place in the lineup. Big salary doesn't mean a thing to this young guy who was fired in 2 other cities for not seeing eye to eye with management regarding the play of his underachieving overpaid vets. If George Gillett can handle seeing alot of money in the press box this guy would be a fine acquisition.
Montreal : The Farm is his strength. He is a prospect and minor league guru who likes to ensure that kids are brought into the system effectively with this team looking to build from the draft this guy might well be the next hab coach and with Andre Savard's strong point being the draft as well Those 2 minds could well prove to be a lethal combination.
Seventeen : A different kind of coach a glue kind of guy teamwork is essential and this guy has the personality to create great gel as seen in all his previous coaching endeavor's. Sometimes his sense of humour get's him in to trouble and causes his player's to be unsure of just when to take him seriously.
Bad Company : Prototypical Power Coach who will analyze the player's to oblivion. don't make a mistake if your on this guy's team he'll see it. Many a referee has been frustrated by this guy who can never seem to get his plan across to his team during the timeout. He has recieved a few bench minor's that cost his team games because of delay of game. He's improving as of late and on most occasions his plans work if only he can get them organized and across to the player's quicker. An outside chance but still an excellent choice among the candidate's.
Marc : A short and simple to the point kind of coach here's your job go do it. Your not doing your job fine i'll give it to someone else. No worries about delay of game with this guy his quick thinking and hurry up approach to the game has baffled many an opposing coach especially when playing In his home arena. Also another youngblood coach for the new millenium.
The inside scoop has HabsAddict as a front runner considering his overly aggressive nature but don't count out any of the other's out of the race it could be anyone. Of course we're still waiting on the termination of Therrien so who knows maybe the next head coach is not gonna be needed.
For the record i checked in at the front door with my union card if anyone is wondering about that !!!!

Quite simply...If I am coach..
-Youngsters will play
-Dykhuis, Traverse and Quintal will be sent to Siberia
-We will have set PP and PK units
-I'd tell AS to get rid of one of the 3 RW's ASAP
-I'd tell Gilmour ''4th line or goodbye''
-I WILL call a timeout once and awhile
-I WILL pull out a goalie when he is struggling and is being embarassed
-I WILL have a system
VOTE for me!

JV is the man for the job....no nonsense, common sense, stick to his guns, stand up for his opinions, able to stoutly defend his opinions, and intimidating.....the right players would be playing...those that were playing would be giving it all....no cr*p would be allowed....thats my feeling from all the reading ive done. HA as an assistant.

Thank you, thank you
Thank you all for this honour. I promise to lead this team to the longest winning streak known to humanity. Long gone are the days of mercenary players and half assed, overpaid dancing ice midgets. From this day on, glory has returned.
For my first order of business, I name Johnny Verdun as my offensive coach responsible for all the forward unit and how it interacts with my system.
For my defensive coach, I name BadCompany whose responsibility will be to teach and refine the defense.
For my Director of Player Personnel, I name Montreal, who will be responsible for prospect development and scouting.
For my goaltending coach, I name Maritimer who job is to train and develop the goaltenders.
For statistician I name HabWest whose job is to maintain and analyse statistics of our and other teams.
I name Marc as the team spokesman and radio and tv announcer.
I name Seventeen as my chief fianancial officer whose job is to keep my pockets well lined.
As manager reporting to ME, the coach, I name PTH. Also known around the league as Paul the Hand (for his underhanded yet beneficial slight of hands).
Foe janitorial responsibility I name Micheal Therrien.
Anybody who I did not name can grovel to me at the appropriate time.
I like to thank all of you again and to reassure you that I will guide this team and show it the proper direction with my right hand while firmly gripping Mr. Louisville with my left.

Since I'm not in the running for the coaching role, I'd like to definitely try being the owner. I'd OWN a meat packing company. Mmmmm....all that beef

Actually, if you simply move my reply above yours, it will make a lot more sense. And sure, I'll be your bag man. And Breezer ain't gettin no $4mm that's fer sure.

Me, coach this team No way, I wouldn't want the headaches. I mean what can you do with this bunch. I'll tell Savard, please don't trade Hackett, he' my #1, and that Theo kid can be backup against the easy teams (but never will he start against any of the elite teams). Trade Dykhuis, as Souray should be back, and we can have Hainsey in the meantime, and hopefully Souray can get Quintal back on track. I would have Markov/Brisebois as my top pairing, then Hainsey/Rivet, then Traverse/Quintal until Souray can put Traverse back where he belongs. Blouin I would hardly ever play, only when we need some muscle. Ribs wouldn't play to much either. Chow I would ask Savard to trade. Z-K-A line is playing good, keep them together. Gilmor I would move to the 4th line with his buddy McKay, and Kilger/Lindsay/Blouin. Bring up Hossa. Lines would be Zednik Koivu Audette Hossa Perreault Petrov Bulis Juneau Dackell Kilger Gilmor McKay Markov Brisebois Hainsey Rivet Traverse Quintal Hackett Theodore

That's exactly how I would do it, with the exception that it would be Audette who gets tossed, and Czerkawski who is kept. I like the rest though - Hossa with Perrault and Petrov, Hainsey with Rivet, Gilmour with McKay and Kilger (course Dougie might not like it...). Works for me. I'd give you my vote, 'cept I used it to vote for myself...

I will overlook this grievous lack of loyalty because I think that you have potential. *snicker* Given 20-30 years of careful tutelage and judicious application of corporal punishment, I think you have the potential (however slight) to move up and take JV’s job. Truth be told though, I want a tough, nasty hombre to back me up, not some young, bookish whipper snapper who makes kittens cry. Now get out there and give Quintal a beating, err, I mean show him how to play defence (if that’s possible : . P.S. JV, do you still go out and hunt grizzlies with a truncheon?

Me, coach this team No way, I wouldn't want the headaches. I mean what can you do with this bunch. As my first "sleigh of hand" move, I hire a hit squad, and make sure that Audette, McKay, Quintal and Dykhuis ride in the same car...... which "accidentally" is run over by 2 dump trucks, one smashing into the car from the front, the other from the back. At 90mph. Each. After that, all our problems are much, much easier to solve :-) We'd have something like 7 million available, along with 3 roster spots. My next sleigh of hand would involve Traverse, Bouillon, Chouinard, Dany Heatley, Marian Gaborik, Jarome Iginla and Eric Brewer, but I haven't gotten the particulars set up quite yet.

Memo:
To: Whoever voted for seventeen
re: The Poll
Message:
It's not too late. Call 1-800-THERAPY before the condition progresses too far. You exhibit the early onset of emptyheadeditis. If untreated, the condition results in progressive degeneration and culminates in total lack of judgment, a tendency to spew nonsense and an unexplained obsession with yellow suits. If you find yourself sipping wine with anyone whose last name starts with Q, head immediately for the emergency ward at HA general hospital.
A concerned rooster.

Wait 4 years and then you know what to do with PTH. P.S. Do it slowly, painfully and publicly. Need to deliver a message to that BC guy. He is working on an overthrow plot that is so complicated and worked out and fretted over every detail that even Nixon’s eyes would light up….from his grave.
