Interesting!! www.hockeysfuture.com/2002top50/top50.htmWith most of the top guys in the NHL...Komi and Hainsey are in the top 15... So habs have 3 guys in the top 50 and it could be more if you take out all the youngsters on that list who are NHLers now

Bullpucks..............
I read some of the reports from HF and they are full of it. All they have is a bunch of fans who I would seriously question their hockey knowledge. I read a scouting report of exactly the same game that we went to and I thought that it was a different game that they were watching.
Don't forget that HF reputation was built on "prospects" but they are FAR from experts. Even though they like to think they are.

I remember reading that report HA and was thinking the very same thing as you "what the hell game was this guy watching" anyhow it's time again for another Smirnoff and clamato with a touch of tobasco and worcestishire 2 ice cubes and some spicing around the rim. Ceasar was good for one thing ultimately at least. ( Are you cleaning your shoes?)

Talk about Smirnoffs, man I could use a case right now.... anyways, I'm definitely with those who think HF is 9 times out of 10 full of it. They are incredibly biased towards prospects (I understand it's a prospect site, but please people, some objectivity) and YES, they are in fact just a bunch of fans who write for a really popular site. Just look at the grammar most of these guys use... it's horrible. These are the kind of people who think the Rangers should be playing Christian Dube on a scoring line, they've lost their mind. You read these 'reports' and they make every guy out to be a budding superstar.... seriously, every player there has good wheels, a nice shot, some grit, good hockey sense.... sh-t, these guys wouldn't know hockey sense if it tickled their girlfriend's and left them a video of it.

We want the truth? Can you handle the truth? Read a Game Report or a Scouting Report from one of our boys and you get the whole truth and nothing but the truth. P.S. Depending on blood alcohol levels.

Three in the top 50 isn't too bad. I though Komisarek would be higher but I guess the fact it took him a whole 10 games to adjust to the AHL made the HF guys place him lower

Well in HF's defence there's some real good posters, but they are few and far between, and doubtful they worked on that article, as I thought it was not very good. In general anything that is Hab related gets slamned. They are anti-Hab on that site, but there's a lot of Hab fans there, and some of them have the intelligence of lint.
Funny how theahl.com has Komisarek at #3 prospect in the league, McKeens had him #7 last year (when I had a brief subscription) but he's like 21st or so now. Anyway, I didn't pay much attention to it, as it was done by some posters there, no big deal.

I'll agree that there are some knowledgable posters at Hockeysfuture, but I'd take their top 50 list with a grain of salt. If I'm not mistaken, the list was put together based on a series of polls they ran during the summer. They'd have daily brackets of players for each position, and the HF readers / posters could vote. I know I voted for our players, though I hadn't seen any of them play - nor the players they were up against. I'd guess that the majority of voters hadn't actually watched more than a handful of the given prospects play.
Looking at the individual team boards, the Rangers has a total of 32,175 posts, while the 'Canes board has 450. Some teams have a large following of readers, while others have very few. I'd imagine there was a similar bias in the voting. I still find the site to be an informative resource for prospects, just not the definitive one.

Maybe I came across a little strong on HF... i dont know why, i hadnt had any smirnoffs yet, but after having some time to calm down i think that while they provide you with good info, a ton of stats, and some 'reports' on players you've never heard of, (they do have a wealth of information there), the problem with that site is that you really need to sort through the BS to get down to the truth. That's what I don't like them.

Lehtonen, Bouwmeester, Nash, Pitkanen, Bouchard, Lupul, etc. Plus some guys of the 2001 draft class who were drafted higher than Komisarek(Spezza, Chistov, Svitov, Weiss, etc).
