Saw this at Habfans...for Bednar and Lilja...great deal for the Kings!
Mods, you can move this to another board in a few hours.

You've gotta admit though, Florida didn't exactly get chopped liver for a UFA to be.
I think that's a great deal on both sides.
I like LA a lot with Yushkie. Norstrom, Yushkevish, Miller, Schneider, Modry, and Visnovsky.
I think I'd take that 6 over any other 6 in the league top to bottom.
Yes, Colorado is more top heavy with Blake, Foote, and Morris, but that is a very solid 6.

LA needed a RD badly. Norsrtom, Schneider, Visnovsky, Modry and Lilja were all LH shots. Only Miller was a rightie. As was pointed out by a poster at HabFans, this deal should seriously lessen the chance that Fla will now deal Ference as rumoured. Oh well. This team desperately needs more muscle on the left side anyway. Souray will certainly help, but that will still leave Dykhuis out there every game and he's too soft. Brisebois and Markov, as the 2 more offensive-minded d-men, are both playing more physically of late. The right side has Rivet and Quintal to handle the rougher going, but even with Souray back, Dykhuis or Traverse will continue to be out there. Hainsey is the L prospect and he's not overly physical. Komi is the big R prospect and he's obviously physical. Sooo...let's make a deal for a real tough LD...now. Ference is the right type player, but he plays the right side. Who would be a good guy to target? McLaren...can't see it:) What about Therrien, Sutton, Carney or Kloucek? Heck, Ulanov would be an improvement over Dykhuis.

I'm sure happy with it. I was bummed out when Quinn traded him. Then on top of it he was stuck in Florida and Florida isn't coming to San Jose this season. Now with him in LA I can see him the next time the Kings play here. Now I have 2 former Leafs in LA.

Young, very young(22 years old) and apparenlty hits ALOT. Hehehehe. Now, since I have the Kings in my NHL 2002 season, I am quite happy they made this deal! ;D

He's shown patience with the prospects he's felt have a legit shot at becoming a part of this team. It'll take alot more to get Kloucek than any of the other guys you mentioned. As for Ulanov... I wouldn't be too sure of that!

Well, I don't know about Florida not dealing Ference (or another d-man). I mean, one of the guys they picked up for Yuskevich was a defenceman (Andreas Lilja), so if dealing Yuskie was a depth thing, I don't think they have resolved it. However, if anything, I think they would be looking to acquire another veteran defenceman, to help out all those kids they have. They have Paul Laus, but I think they would be more in the market for an Eric Weinrich type, and maybe make a two for one kind of thing to acquire him. Like Ference and Rossiter or something. Especially if they are close to a playoff spot. Don't know if we have what they would be looking for in that department, but if they are still looking for forwards, we could still get something done, in my opinion. Though the price probably wouldn't be cheap.
