Obviously not hockey related(mods...you can move it after)... but MONTREAL HAS ANOTHER CHAMPIONSHIP!!! Man that last minute was stressing and a hell of a play by Strickland to avoid that 2 point conversion! CONGRATS to the Als...after years of coming oh so close...they have finally won it all!

Great game, about time they win it, they always choke. I thought they were going to choke tonight. Nice catch by Woodcock 99 yards . Way to go boys you deserved it.

I'd say that the Grey Cup is the second coolest trophy in pro sports. I visited Calgary at the end of November / early December, last year. We were at the bar Cowboys, on Thursday, when a bunch of the Stampeders showed up with the cup, after having won it the previous Sunday. They had it on display in the corner of the bar, where patrons could have a close look. My buddy asked permission to drink from it, and the guy guarding it said ok. He poured his beer in, and we each had a sip. It's definitely a Canadian tradition to have a pro sports trophy so accessible to the public.

YEAH BABY! YEAH!
Offense sputtered, and the turf was miserable, but the boys found a way to pull it out in the end. I agree Marc, great play on the two-point conversion, and Copeland's onside kick return was just gravy...
I'm drunk.

It was a fun night for sure: my first time in Calgary, and first time in Cowboys, which I'd heard so much about. It was a definite, unexpected treat to see one of Canada's great traditions on display.

I was at the '89 Grey Cup in T.O. just after they opened the Skydome. We wanted to take a Via rail trip before they closed the south line, so we got Grey Cup tickets in Toronto. I was only 11 years old at the time, and lucky enough for us (as my dad was a long time Rider season ticket holder), Saskatchewan made the finals against Hamilton. What I witnessed was likely the best Grey cup game in history. Later that winter, Rider guard, Roger Aldag (a local hero of from just up the highway) brought the cup to the local hockey rink. I was able to get a picture taken with my arm around the cup, and Roger's arm around the cup. Definately a cool momento. How many other sports trophies are that accessable to the public? none

It clearly shows what a top notch coach can accomplish. Edmonton lost this game when they fired Don Matthews last year & replaced him with Tom Higgins. Higgins made some questionable decisions and was clearly outclassed by Matthews.

Congratulations, guys. I'm happy for all of you. ESPN 2 used to televise the Grey Cup game but 1997 was the last time they televised it (that's the last year they televised IHL, which is defunct, Games too). Every November I check ESPN and ESPN 2 to see if they are going to televise it again. I did the same this past weekend, but no Grey Cup game. I really don't like Pro Football and I don't like the Super Bowl because 99.999% of the time it's onesided and boring, but I always enjoyed the Grey Cup games.
