i sure hope i'm eating my words come the new year when: -audette, chow, and petrov have 10 goals and 20 points each -traverse is feared around the league for his bone crushing hits and all around great physical play -gilmour and quintal skate hard for entire shifts -it's noticable that randy mckay is actually on the canadiens -juneau and dacks lift the team into the top 25 for penalty killing -theo plays more than two strong games in a row -therrien isn't sitting former 20, and 30 goal scorers for multiple games so he can put his buddies from junior into the line up who have a total of 3 career nhl goals am i asking for a little much? or could i really be eating my words for saying that NONE of this is happening right now?

Like PTH says...I'd have half the team shot....or just waived.... amazingly, somehow we are in the 8th playoff seed

That 8th playoff spot is not very comfortable as some teams that were struggling at the beginning are now turning it aroud; TO, NYI, NYR are all moving in on 500 now and we are going in the opposite direction with a tough part of the scedule coming.
It seems to me one of three things has to happen to avoid a crash and hopefully all 3 will happen: 1) Theo plays like he did last year or Hack does and MT lets Hack play; 2) get rid of MT as i think a new coach could make all the difference with a system, a pk and proper use of the talent this team has; 3) make a few trades and give up some smurfs up front and some pilons on d and get a few big forwards who can skate or some dmen who can play steady ( offensively we're fine on d with Brise and Markov).
In order of likelihood i would say that a trade is first but the question will be whether AS can get rid of the garbage and pick up some useful players. MT being fired would be next as i don't see Theo getting to where he was last year for at least a month and i don't see AS tolerating his $40+ million team being out of a playoff spot

I wonder how much ''patience'' AS has...like you said 40(close to 50 million$) payroll and to not make the playoffs with it would be a financial disaster.
We have to act soon before it's too late IMO.

Yea, a financial disaster for AS as he would be out of a job!

Maybe not, but he would be on the hotseat.
