Hopefully they sign him this will open the door for AS in the next couple of months to get a good deal for Hackett from a desperate team! www.tsn.ca

I'm ready to say "screw it, let's just keep Hackett". Unless we're able to get back a prospect with unrealized upside who can finish the year in Hamilton, it's just not worth it. Hackett can give us another 20 or more high quality starts, and it will be more if Theo doesn't put this medicore spell behind him for good.
Given a choice between moving Audette, Hackett or Petrov, I'd move Audette. The 8 million left on Donald's contract (2.6 years) concerns me more than the balance of Hackett's. I mean, assume we could get a 4th rounder now for Hackett, or a 5th as compensation for losing a ufa, wouldn't you just take the 5th and keep him here? I would.

Good. ATL has nothing we want. Let them get Da-hole. They will win maybe 5 more games because of it and instead of drafting 1st or 2nd overall, draft 4th or 5th.

just read on the ticker on Headline Sports that the Rangers made an offer to Dafoe as well. Can't help but think the Rangers will fork over a little more cash to make sure they have someone who can take Richter's spot.

*PRAY* the Thrashers get him so the Rangers get into the bidding war for Hackett.

I say there is no choice but to hold Hackett at this point. Without him we'd be in the bottom third of the league. As Theo started the year I began to wonder if last year was one of those anomalies where a goalie stands on his head to lead his team into the playoffs, looking like the next saviour, only to severely crash back to earth, as reality set back in. Or does Theo perhaps need a severe knock to the head, ala someone's knee, to knock him back into last years la-la land. Hack needs to stay at this point. Can't wait till we play Buffalo.
