You need the entire team to play with attitude.

The price factor obviously decides if we should go for it or not.
and if the Panthers really want to deal in him in the first place(although they have lots of young d-man)

I could see them being interested in Chad Kilger. They seem to be kind of weak down the middle... Plus, Keenan would probably be exactly the type of coach Kilger could use, somebody that would ride him unmercifully, until Kilger turns into exactly the type of player Kilger can be - a solid, physical, two-way force. Could be the best thing to ever happen to Chad.
Or it could be the worst. Who knows?
Probably take a little more than Kilger to get it done though...

Unfortunatly, our miserable idiots don't know HOW to coach the best out of him. He is going to get traded and then we will see him develop into a Cashman like player and wonder why. *f* it. I KNOW why.

If Keenan can get to Jokinen's head and put him on the right track, he can get to Kilger for sure.
and I think HA is right and I think he is wrong. Kilger has been traded by Anaheim, Phoenix, Chicago and Edmonton for a reason. But that said, considering our luck with big guys he would likely develop on his new team....

I'm pretty sure we can all stop holding our breath for Kilger to score 25 goals.
Even in his draft year he was projected as a banging defensive forward/center, not an offensive threat. That wasn't exactly the deepest draft ever, and he probably goes late in the first round in a good draft.
Kilger is what he is, a good skating, hard checking, checking line center who will get spot duty on a scoring line when injuries occur, or more size is needed.
Now as for Ference I say get right on that! I love that guy, I wanted the Habs to pick him up last year, man can he fight. I would give up anyone in his price range...obviously not Komi, Hainsey, Markov, or Zed. Any of the other young guys can go as far as I'm concerned.

Actually, Ryan, the 1995 draft was(especially the 1st round) was a pretty good one: www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/draft/nhl1995e.htmlRedden, Berard, Berg, Langkow, Doan, McLaren, Dvorak, Sykora, IGINLA, Giguere, McKee, Biron, Gauthier, Boucher, Morozov and Denis were all 1st rounders and are all solid players if not stars. Then you have guys like Kilger, first forward drafted in that draft, Kuznetsov, Sean Brown and company struggling to hang on to a regular job. I remember people comparing Kilger to Arnott at that draft...

I also remember watching the 1st 3 round on RDS and when Winnipeg select Doan,,,the RDS crew had their camera on the MTL table and all the paper and a swether go directly to the basket IT was MTL pick the next and we end up with Saperlipopette

Yes even Doan thought he was going to us because Winniped had not interviewed him...the Habs were going to draft him if he was still available...a real bummer..

I'm sure the Panthers could use a right handed defenseman who stands up for his teammates, but has veteran savvy rather than youthful mistakes. Like.....for example, Stephane Quintal. Perfect. Of course we might have to throw in someone for the Panthers to take him off our hands...like our first round choice for the next 52 years.

You have no idea how dissapointed i was when the Jets took Doan. I watched him play in that years Memorial Cup, and he was a real force. Too bad the Habs plan B was Terry Ryan and not Doan's junior teammate Jarome Iginla!

or McLaren or Sykora or Dvorak...*sigh*
That 1995 draft pisses me off more than the 1997 or 1998 one because 1995 had alot of quality in it after we drafted.
