he only has 3 points in 9 games... whats up with that? appearently according to the Edmonton Journal he's on the block aalong with a buncha players suspected to be available:
1. Donald Audette
2. Brad Isbister
3. Dave Scatchard
4. Marc Savard
5. Brian Savage
6. Radek Dvorak
7. Magnus Arvedsson
8. Curtis Brown
9. Jason Woolley
10. Shayne Corson
11.Kyle McLaren
12.Jiri Dopita
everyone knows we'd be interested in acquiring scatchard and isbister and rid ourselves of aud and forget of corson... but is there anyone else that might be interesting?

Bwaahahahahahahahahahaha.................
Now I feel better. Salvage con job in Montreal only lasted for a year with AS. Meanwhile he pulls the wool over their eyes and they sign him for another 3. STUPID.
You know what makes me wonder sometimes. Why do GM's not take the message that a player is a piece of sh*t and no matter where he goes, his attitude will follow. In my world, I know that no matter how much money you give or how well you treat some people they will NEVER change so you get rid of them and life goes on. Why is it different in hockey? Why is Salvage and Rosie and all those types of players are going to change? They just don't care and the GM's should treat them and offer them contracts to reflect their attitude.
"I will pay you if you produce so many goals and assist (or widgets) and if you don't then I need to help you with your career by letting you go". Yes, I know it sounds simple and it is that simple. Except GM's are not playing with their own money and the owners who are paying regard their team as a hobby. Imagine if Sather had to answer to a Board of Directors? He would be tossed out on his butt by now for incompetence.
Yup, it’s a Fairy Tale world in hockey.

Yeah, well, we have Donald Audette, so it's a bit like the pot calling the kettle black. And in fact, the Donald may prove to be more difficult to move than Savage. I'd actually bet on it.
Nothing would please me more than to see Savard move Audette, but this going to be no small feat, I assure you. Hackett's expensive, but he's worth more to us than he is to anyone else out there right now. Audette, on the other hand, is worth very little to us and just as little on the market.
I'm not saying we won't be able to do it at some point, but it's going to take a while and things are going to get a tad unpleasant in Habland before it happens. Phoenix will likely be rid of Savage before we move Audette, if that is what they intend to do. And Savage is more likely to contribute in the interim than is Donald Audette....
I'm still lovin' Savard, but I'm the first to admit that this is a wee bit of a mess.

Audette: maybe if he goes goaless for the season he'll retire According to Pierre McGuire a deal on Audette is almost done as the only thing left to be hammered is how much of the DA's salary the HABS will eat... McGuire is not a reliable source at all, but I can just immagine Savard trading Audette for a bag of pucks, picking up 500k/yr of his contract and then Audette goes on to outscore any HABS...

The guy I would pay a heavy price for right now is Chris Gratton of the Sabres, he's on his way to a carreer year and if he's anything like Todd Bertuzzi he's only getting better with age!
I would give a Petrov, Hossa or somebody else who is cheap for him in a heartbeat!

I remember when McGuire "confirmed" that Montreal had traded Vladimir Malakhov to Carolina, in return for Martin Gelinas. I think a week later Malakhov was in New Jersey and Gelinas was on waivers... McGuire is all right when analysing the game, and he was the one that broke the Craig Rivet injury story, but when it comes to trade rumours, he probably nails about as many as any other journalist does. None, in other words.

I like Brian Savage, he was a good, hard working, tho inconsistent Hab.
Cook a deal, bring him back, we shoulda never traded him away.

I would give a Petrov, Hossa or somebody else who is cheap for him in a heartbeat! Same here. The only way I would give up one of our very good prospects like Hossa would be to get a 25-28 year old who would fill a huge hole on our team. Gratton would be HUGE for us. I remember saying last summer he could have a Bertuzzi kind of year this year. After-all, Bertuzzi and Gratton are the same age and big guys take longer to develop. Gratton would be great at LW or C here for sure.

I like Brian Savage too, but we'd have to start by ripping up his contract until he starts ripping up the league. It's not going to happen. Savage is toast. We waited for him to turn into a John Leclair and he never did. He can't score and he can't play defense. If you look like Celine Dion you better have a great voice. If you have a terrible voice you better look like Brittney Spears. Now Savage looks like Barbra Streisand and sings like Rosanne Barr. He's getting old and his stock is dropping. Nice guy though but not on my team.
