In the last preseaon game against Team USA U-18's he had 2 goals. Their season started last saturday. He didn't score or get any points, and was kicked out of the game in the 2nd for fighting (I dont' know for sure, someone told me that he got booted) Tonight his team lost again, and he did not pick up any points either. His team plays again Saturday night. He should be on the top line for Team USA at the WJC's in december, as he was their leading scorer last year. He was also the leading scorer for Yale (as a freshmen, and rookie of the year in the East) And no he has not signed a contract with the Habs, but a good year this season, could put him in Hamilton next year.

Montreal. Great job and thanks once again ;D Go Higgins Go! No problem, I always like any updates, so when I have one I pass it along. About Higgins, I did find out the reason why he didn't get any points on Friday, he was suspended for the fight he had in the season opener. So far he's only played 4.5 periods of hockey but has got 3 pts to show for it.

Sorry guys, but I made a minor mistake on Higgins. In the first game he played, he picked up an assit on their first goal. So in less then 2 games he is leading his team in scoring with 4 points. 2-2-2-4. I checked his stats at uscho.com and found that he is leading his team in scoring even though he's played 1 less game (over 4 periods less, as he got thrown out in the 1st game somewhere in the 2nd period) Just wanted to make sure I got the facts straight.
I was really happy when we picked Higgins, even though he's only 5'11 192, in a few years, he could be a good player for us. Maybe he'll be in Hamilton next year, who knows. Over at HF we did a mock Habs draft, I had Higgins for our first pick and I got Lambert picked right too (except I had him in the 3rd not 4th). So needless to say, I think Higgins has a lot of skill, and hopefully he has a great year, and he should be in the WJC's next month for Team USA, I would think since he lead them in scoring last year, and from what I heard he was very good at the Team USA camp over the summer.

I wanted us to pick a center last June, but a big one. A guy like Klepis or Koreis or Taticek. Taticek went early. So when our turn came, players like the 2 K's, Higgins, Babchuk(the monster Russian D) and obviously wildcard Hudler were players I thought the Habs could pick. Savard and co pickup Higgins and after reading a few scouting reports it's looking like a very good move. Higgins is Komi's friend, is maybe the best center in US college hockey and should be Hamilton next year and could make our team in 2004-05(if there is no lockout and Savard said he could make it in 2 season from now). The only bad part is he's under 6 feet tall like the rest of our centers..
