Let's keep Gilmour for now. He seems happy at LW, he complements Perreault and Petrov well and it looks like he'll be there for us in the big games down the stretch(and may dissapear a little against the Anaheim games in October...)

I really can't see any trade with Toronto and especially a goalie.. The leafs are locked into the next two years with Belfour at 6 million and Kidd for two years. Kidd was placed on waivers by Florida so could have been had by anyone, so not a big market there. If the Habs can't move a number 1 goalie, nobody is shopping for an expensive backup like Kidd. Also the Leafs do not want almost 10 million for a Belfour/Hackett combination. Andropov doesn't impress me either. Big kid, sloppy skating and not very physical so what would he be worth? For Audette sure, for Kilger no. The only guy the Leafs have that would add a new demension to the Habs is Darcy Tucker. A proven 2-3 line s**t disturber that we haven't had since Claude Lemieux. But that would take much more an offer.

Travis Green for Doug Gilmour? Gilmour is a good leader, that's a fact. But he's also up there in the age and I think Green could help... He's a good faceoff guy with good size and could make a decent (to good) 4th liner. Zednik-Koivu-Czerkawski Kilger-Perreault-Audette (Kilger's not there for his hands... ) Bulis-Juneau-Dackell Lindsay-Green-McKay Petrov, Blouin: out Just a thought Honestly Killer, I think Gilmour will retire with the Habs at the end of the current season. It's taken him a lot less time this year to get into game shape, but alas, getting up for every game is going to be hard for him. It's not an excuse, just an observation made from similar personal experiences. He's had a slow start. I saw him against Pittsburgh and, man, he was on another planet it seemed; he certainly wasn't in the game. And a lot was made of his comments last week, maybe a bit too much IMHO. However, he's responded to the additional ice time. He had a noticable jump in his step against Carolina and though he didn't count too many points, he did play very well against Toronto. Could we use Travis Green? Sure, what team couldn't? However, I don't think Doug Gilmour is the answer to Toronto's present problems. They have enough rough and tumble veterans as it is right now I honestly think the root of their problems are off ice. However, I also think you'll see a complete 180-degree turn in the character of the club when Gary Roberts returns. That was Roberts' team during the playoffs last year and what killed the Leafs was the return of Sundin. He wasn't fully healed and still played, while Roberts' unknowingly deferred leadership back onto the captain. That move alone killed the Leafs last year I thought. Would I welcome Travis Green. Yes, probably as a faceoff specialist (dah!) and 4th-line centre. But, I'd tag him as heir-apparent to JoƩ Juneau. Would Toronto take Gilmour? Well, would you if you were the Leafs? Not I. Oh, and welcome to the board. Please be sure to read the Code of Conduct that was originated by the board administrator, Clear Observer. Hope to see you posting more and more this season. Cheers.
