I had the good luck to be at the ACC to watch Habs vs. Leafs. Here are my thoughts:
1. Habs are damned luck that Belfour was between the posts - if it was a really goalie between the pipes, we would have lost 2-0.
2. MT is as dumb as a hammer - he had no clue how to match up the forwards to exploit Toronto's all time weakest defensive pairing of Aki Berg + Wade Belak. C'mon !!
3. Gilmour + Juneau looked tired and slow all night
4. Thank goodness for Petrov , Zednik and Saku - they are are only offensive threats.
If this team is to succeed - we must have offence. Lets hope for Hossa to join the big team soon and a trade to get some help.

In all fairness, it did help to have Belfour at his best....in net. Then again, what options does Quinn have?

I wish I could have been at that game, Hersh. I had heard that Montreal-clad fans got a hell of a bad time from their counterparts in Toronto. Much moreso after a Leaf's win. But not the other night I take it. There were some areas to work on for sure, but generally I thought the team played well collectively. Here's what I saw. 1. Habs are damned luck that Belfour was between the posts - if it was a really goalie between the pipes, we would have lost 2-0. True, but it was probably the best team-game they had played all year. It was especially nice to see the OTHER team running around in their own end for a change. I didn't really watch that match-up, but I thought the Habs kept the Leafs big guns off the score sheet rather effectively. In fact the Juneau/Dacks/Bulis line kept the Sundin line to one point; an assist to Mogilny and that came on the powerplay. Gilmour looked pretty good on the PP. While his line didn't score on every PP they did seem to be effective nonetheless. I didn't notice Juneau's fatigue, but unlike yourself, I wasn't there. Maybe it was one of those two-games-in-two-nights deals.
