He doesn't. When Mighty Mike comes back with his tub of protein powder under his arm, looking for love and ice time, where does he go? Not on the ice, imo. We just got Blouin to add grit and MT is evidently not satisfied with the degree of physical play he's getting from Kilger. Lindsay's dance with Tucker probably earned him some more ice, and Therrien's already hardpressed to organize the lines without making us too soft and weak on any one of them. In other words he's trying to spread around our littleness and not to concentrate it too much in one place. Gilmour/Perreault/Petrov has its size issues, obviously, but that's the price we pay for being forced into using Gilmour on one of the top lines. So we have two smallish centers on one line along with our second smallest forward (Petrov). Enough, as they say, is sufficient. And we have sufficient littleness to last all season. The way MT is using his lines, there's no way we're going to a 4th line composed of Mikey and some muscle. Our three offensive line experiment lasted three games.
So Mikey can agree to a stint in Hamilton for a week or ten days, but that will only delay the inevitable hard decisions. And even assuming Audette is moved in the next two weeks, that really doesn't help Mikey's chances of seeing any serious ice time. We'll still be dealing with Gilmour (who'll want to go back to center somewhere).
Bottom line? They should move him, preferably in the same package as Hackett, but separately if they have to. Or do you guys favor carrying him on the roster in the same way we've been carrying Garon for the last month? Not me.

A conditioning stint is likely IMO.
Then the decisions will have to be made.
