17, any comments? ;D Seriously, the Bruins are starting to run away with this division. Isles lose again. They had a 2-0 lead and blew it. Mad Mike...will he panic soon? TB wins again 3-0 against NYR

The teams we projected to be behind us aren't, and don't seem to be faltering. How do you spell "running out of time...fast". This isn't a call for panic, but it's obvious the team, as is, is at best a .500 hockey team. That isn't going to be good enough for anything but a 12th or 11th choice in the draft. Funny, huh?...we were supposed to be the improved team, not the Bruins, not the Lightning, not the Wild. No one else really got much improved player wise, but we remain handicapped with that anchor around our necks.

Everyone thought Boston was going to fall apart (not me). Boston got weaker and we got stronger, but we were so far behind them in the regular season that we still haven't caught up. We beat them in the post season because Theodore was superhuman, not because we dominated them. We got stronger because in pre-season and we hoped Hainsey, Komisarek and Markov would become a recreation of Robinson, Savard and Lapoint (it may take a while) and Hossa and Balej would be lighting up the league (NHL not AHL). AS got rid of Berezin (good, shouldn't have aquired him in the first place) and added Czerk (not a young up and comer). All of our forwards are old and in decline after above average years (in the past) with other teams who didn't consider them essential anymore. We expect the goals to come from smurfs (seen that word too many times) who aren't able to control the slot or keep the puck inside the blueline. The defense can't clear the puck outside our blueline. Our goaltenders are only able to stop the first thirty shots on net and let in the deflections from power forwards who own the slot. We get beaten by the fifth and sixth rebounds. I'm told it's not time to panic (Custer was told that too), but rearranging our forward lines is like rearranging the deckchairs on the Titanic. It's not the players fault! They are genetically 5'10 and they can't do anything about it. They try to play a system (whatever it is) taught by a coach who doesn't communicate. I don't care how hard a jockey tries, if his horse can't keep up he can't win the derby.
Is it time to start another five year plan with another GM and coach? By the way, what is our current plan. Stock up the leftover and rejects from other teams and sneak into 16th place. Or is it overpay and extend the contracts of mediocre players to lose to teams with far smaller payrolls in smaller markets. I don't see any young forwards ready to make the all-star team or lead the league in scoring. Last year I said watch out for Tampa Bay. Soon we will be passed by Atlanta. I remember all the posts about tanking to get a legitimate shot at a superstar. Working hard to get into 16th place and working hard to stay there doesn't seem like a great plan AS.
Pissed in Los Angeles after watching the Angels win the world series with a bluecollar bunch of home developed draft picks!
Are we really improving or does anything seem like an improvement after Houle?
