Not that bad IMO.
Everything that could go wrong did(no need to name what when wrong)
Yes,We keep blowing 3rd period leads, we can't win in friggin OT, but we are at .500 after playing a bunch of VERY tough teams in this month.
Things could be worse.

You know what though, compared to some past seasons, .500 hockey isn't so bad. Right now, with how our defence is playing and pure lack of offence, I'm happy with .500. Now obviously I would like to have a much better record; but until something positive takes place, like for an example, Kilger playing to his potential, Zednik finding his touch that he had in the playoffs, Theo getting back to for, a usefull trade that brings in a big body (Kyle Mclaren), nothing's going to happen. I say the main reason for our lack of finishing games, or even being in them to begin with, for example, the 2 philly games, we need another guy like Carbo behind the bench again. Head coach or just an assistant, I don't care.

It's a good thing we didn't trade Hackett for the bag of pucks some posters would have accepted (and still pay some of his salary to boot) or this post would read:
"Re: October finished!"

Deffensive minded for sure! With the amount of shots taken on net by opposing teams, that's a problem people have been talking about for the last couple of years. The deffensive positioning is horible and that's why they are losing games and/or tying. It doesn't matter who you have in front of our net whether its breakwood (Brisebois) or Q-ball, no one is taking out people in front, our D isn't looking around and paying attention to whats happening around them. They're playing a really bad "Zone" defence. I don't get to see all the games because I live in T.O. but I see all the highlights, which the majority are opposition's goals, and a lot are just deffensive blunders. Therien should stop emphasizing trying to score goals, that comes with good deffence which we've seen in the past and has been the base for many teams, especially one's we have trouble with. Buffalo isn't a great team, but they do it well, especially when they play da habs. Take a lesson boys!
