Pierre Maguire was on the FAN 590 this afternoon and said that besides St. Louis both Chicago and Pittsburg could be interested in Hackett. St Louis seem to want and wait longer before making any big moves and Chicago fear that Tbo could collapse as he did last year. But with Mario healthy they could be looking at making a Hackett/ Hedburg combo. He mentioned Montreal could be interested in Ville Nieminen.
But just a rumor.

I'd imagine we would have to pay a huge part of Hack's salary
I would say no deal because we will compete with those guys for a playoff spot.

I heard the same commentary but the Pittsburgh reference was only a suggestion by McGuire. He mentioned Philadelphia also with thought that Hackett would be an upgrade over Cechmanek. I'm not sure if anything is brewing but AS is very quiet.Unless our socks are blown off no way to I help anybody in the division. HNIC said St.Louis turned down Hackett for a low round pick?If thats the case I'm glad and if true it certainly is an indication of the market. HFTO

Don't see Hackett coming to the Burg. Hedberg is starting to play well and Aubin has been a pleasant surprise to the followers of the flightless birds.
