The Habs have apparently re-acquired Francis Bouillon, and have assigned him to Hamilton.
I'm surprised he wasn't able to help the Preds.

www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story.asp?ID=9866Habs claim Bouillon off waivers tsn.ca Staff 10/25/2002 Montreal Canadiens General Manager, Andre Savard, announced today that the team has claimed defenceman Francis Bouillon through the NHL waivers from the Nashville Predators. Bouillon will report tot he AHL Hamilton Bulldogs. Bouillon, who turned 27 on October 17, was claimed by the Predators at the NHL waiver Draft on October 4th. He played in four games with Nashville thus far this season. Bouillon was acquired as a free agent by the Canadiens on August 18th, 1998. He has played in 131 games with the Canadiens from 1999 to 2002, and recorded 27 points (3 goals, 24 assists) and 97 penalty minutes. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome Back Francis can we sell Quintal now or Have Traverse placed in a witness protection program this will ultimately cost Hainsey valuable Ice Time again. Unless this move is designed to shore up the d depth to help move someone in a trade with Hack that will acquire a center (ya right one can only hope so any way.)

How were we able to claim Bouillon off of waivers, and then send him to Hamilton? Wouldn't he have to go through waivers again?

I don't really understand this move. Not the fact that they picked him up, 'cause obviously they didn't want to lose him in the first place. But why did they send him down and keep Traverse up?

How were we able to claim Bouillon off of waivers, and then send him to Hamilton? Wouldn't he have to go through waivers again? Maybe he did go through, and Habs had a right of final recall, ie, if no one else wants him in the NHL, we get to have him in the AHL ? For players taken off waivers who don't play much there are a number of strange rules like these.... When Rico Fata went to the Rangers it was the same strange kind of thing - if the Rangers wanted him in the AHL he'd wind up CGY property on CGY's farm club.

A decent move. He'll provide some depth down there. Now how long until our beloved media wants him up because he is better than 5/6's of our defence
